You who use a name best suited in a fairytale

You who hide so much

You I know through your journal

You are fulfilling, sincere

You have pains and joys

You write so perfectly

You daub paint to a canvas with style

You I breathe, smell, taste

You who I really don’t know at all

Does she understand that being ignored doesn’t mean being forgotten?

Never that, wrong word, totally rotten.

She is on my mind more than she knows and more than what is respectful,

but she was my queen, and how she did rule.

The intensity of what went before, means that embers will burn for evermore,

Maybe that’s what is at the core!

Pushed away, but only out of arms reach, never out of sight,

so I move on as it was she who gave up the fight.

Does she know we can never meet again, my feelings would betray,

Holding her hostage to my heart would give me away.

She is proud and humble, young of heart and full of fun,

I swear I’d take her hand and head into the sun.

But as it is I would have to watch every word I say,

as she’s loved by a wolf so grey.

Sometimes, just sometimes, we ignore what we feel,

as to me you will always be my queen, for you I kneel.
