I have my results of all those tests from the past year... finally.
Good news and bad... it is definitely cancer and I have finally been put on the "Transplant Receipient List".
I have been put on high priority on the list which is again good and bad. Good that I am high on the list... bad cause that means I am in dire need of new liver.
Now my cousin can finish her testing, apparently is scheduled to do so at the end of this month, to see if she is a suitable donor. In the meantime I have received a "pager" and if and when that puppy goes off... I have approx. 3 hours to get to the hospital and surgery is on!
Not much of a warning is it! In the meantime I have lots of paperwork that I really need to get done. Health care to cover the costs of medicine for after, which will be 2-3 THOUSAND a month!!! Thank god this stuff is covered here! I have to set up my Power of Attorney, write my Will and apply for a Medic Alert bracelet... I am sure there is more that I am forgetting! Oh and pack a bag for the hospital... I am trying to look at it as a two month vacation, lol!
I want someone to take a picture of me after surgery with all the tubes and drains and monitors, apparently 10 or so different tubes in me. My friends think I am sick... I think its a once in a life time (I hhope) photo opt! lmao! Look on the brightside! :) And that is where I am trying to stay focused!
But damn it is hard sometimes. Actually being told you might not make it and they really shouldn't operate on me cause I have too many tumors, really makes you think. But thank god I got the surgeon I did! He thinks the rules are too strict and is willing to do the surgery and he is one of the top transplant surgeons in the country! Mind you its a little unnerving that he looks and acts like Doc Brown from Back to the Future! LMAO! I am so not kidding!
I guess if I just disappear for a while... the page came through and I am in surgery for 12 hours and in hosptial for about 2 months!
I hope its soon, but not really....
Was without internet for a while so let's get up to date...
I have to date have had six biopsies now! Last one was last week and they went through the ribs this time. Yeah, THAT was fun! Not too painful! The pain is more afterward, when all the goodies wear off, which doesn't take long at all!
So now August 6 I go for chest and abdomen CT Scans then met with the surgeon again. Hoping they finally got some useful information from all these damned biopsies! REALLY don't want to do anymore of those!
My cousin is patiently waiting for me to finish my tests so she can complete hers to find out if she is a suitable donor. So far so good. Don't know what else they have to do but I guess we find all out as it comes.
In the meantime I am still living in the middle of nowhere, in a tiny town, after leaving the city, with a great view of a lake across the street. Stress-free and relaxing, just as the doctor ordered. Now if they would only stop with all the damned tests! Those are what are stressful for god's sake!! lol!
It's awfully boring at times though. I have always worked and although it may sound good day after day of nothing to do and no responsibilites does get boring! So I read a lot, even more than before and was given a violin. So perhaps I will try to see if I can teach myself to play something other than a noise that sounds an awful lot like a siren! lol!
So in a nutshell, dead liver, but feeling good and spirits still high and positive! :)
Cheers for taking the time to care enough to read about my lttle life!
