I went solo cabin camping with the dog last week and my soul hasn't returned from that trip yet. It's like I hear the wind through the trees continuously, like background static tinted green and wild. I could cry just thinking of it. I've never been good at goodbyes, even with places, and I try to tell myself that those places will remain long after I'm dead and gone because I feel such a mad desire to be there, tucked away and hidden.
It will happen, I will build a sanctuary out there. I will end my days out there. None of that is something I can or should race toward.
I cannot tell you of the beauty. I cannot describe to you the feelings. Maybe you've felt them in a place of worship, maybe you've felt entirely held and seen but not judged, just seen, and then you saw yourself fall away without ego into a current of existence and knew that you found paradise.
Maybe regardless of how we get there, we meet along those paths.
