things to ponder.

Every once in a while I get a little freaked out and think someone's in the house besides myself when I'm home alone. is that weird? Would that be considered a phobia or a fear or something? hmmm.

Friday night I had a dream that I lived in an apartment and I was a little girl. My mom and I became with the family above us. One evening I ran upstairs to play with my new friend and they didn't answer. I knocked on the door and no one answered, so i jiggled the doorknob and it was unlocked so I opened it and the people were dead. It freaked me out. So i ran downstairs and told my mom and we told everyone in our apartment building. we got together and sang songs and sat on the steps and talked. Then I saw someone look out the door and it was Jason. So that really creeped me out and then i went upstairs and saw photos of naked kids and a picture of my family and it had a red x on it.

Then I woke up in a sweat and couldnt go back to sleep. so I wonder what that means.

Moroccan Burritos with Tahini Herb Sauce

Prep Time: 10 min

Cook Time: 1 min

Total Time: 11 mins

Level: Easy

Yield: 4 Burritos

Ingredients

For the Sauce :

1/2 cup fresh parsley

1/3 cup fresh lemon juice

1/4 cup tahini (sesame paste, available in the international foods aisle)

2 teaspoons honey

1 clove garlic, smashed

Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper

For the Burritos:

4 10-inch flour tortillas

2 cups cooked rice or couscous, heated

1 1/3 cups shredded pepper or monterey jack cheese

3 cups leftover Moroccan Turkey Stew, heated

Directions

Make the herb sauce: Puree the parsley, lemon juice, tahini, honey and garlic with 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper and 1/4 cup water in a blender.

Make the burritos: Wrap the tortillas in a damp kitchen towel and heat in the microwave until pliable, about 1 minute. (Alternatively, warm individual tortillas in a large dry skillet.)

Place 1/2 cup rice in the middle of each tortilla and scatter about cup cheese on top. Spoon a quarter of the stew over the cheese. Fold in the two sides of each tortilla and roll into a tight burrito. Serve with the herb sauce.

This dish is made using leftovers from Slow-Cooker Moroccan Turkey Stew.

Slow-Cooker Moroccan Turkey Stew

Prep

20 min

Cook

6 hr 0 min

Total: 6 hr 20 min

Level: Easy

Yield: 4 (with leftovers for Moroccan Burittos)

Ingredients

1 teaspoon ground allspice

Kosher salt

4 skinless, bone-in turkey thighs (about 4 pounds)

1/2 medium butternut squash, cut into 2-inch chunks

2 15.5-ounce cans chickpeas, drained and rinsed

1 28-ounce can whole peeled tomatoes with juices, broken up

1 cup dried apricots

1/2 cup golden raisins

8 medium carrots, cut into 11/2-inch pieces

3 medium red onions, halved and cut into wedges

2 whole dried red chiles

1/2 lemon

2 cups fresh cilantro, including leaves and some stems

1 cup fresh parsley

1 clove garlic, smashed

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil

Directions

Combine the allspice and 3 teaspoons salt in a small bowl. Season the turkey thighs with half the salt mixture in a 5-quart slow cooker.

Toss the squash, chickpeas, tomatoes, apricots, raisins, carrots, onions and chiles with the remaining spiced salt. Pour the vegetables over the turkey (the cooker will be full; arrange the mixture so the lid fits). Cover and cook on high for 6 hours or on low for 7 to 8 hours.

Spoon the vegetables and broth into bowls. Remove and discard the turkey bones and place the meat on top of the vegetables.

Juice the lemon; pulse with the cilantro, parsley, garlic, cumin and 1 teaspoon salt in a food processor. Add the oil and process until smooth. Serve the stew in bowls; drizzle with the cilantro sauce.

Leftovers from this dish can be used to make Moroccan Burritos.

soo this morning i woke up at 3:30 and didnt fall asleep until 6:00. I'm kind of tired. It's friday! I got no plans tonight. I am going to get out of the house though. :)

on another note I had a dream that I was at a huge theme park with some of my cast mates and my family. There was this huge roller coaster and it was rainbow. So my castmates and I went. It seemed to take forever to get on the ride. We finally got on and there was six seats, so six of us got on. I was in the front and had my teddybear with me. My brother was two behind me. So we pulled the bar and the guy asked if we were ready and we said yes. It started going and I startred slipping. It started to turn and I was falling out. It was going to slow and I was holding on to the bar. It started moving up and I was rolling onto the hill. It stopped and I was hanging in the air. The guy who was running it came out and wasn't mean about it. He asked if I didnt have my belt on and I told him I didn't. He told me to get down. I was okay with that and told him that I was getting scared anyway. We started walking and talked and my mom told me that I shouldve put my belt on. then she and the guy were ahead of me and I whispered "there were no belts when we got on. They suddenly appeared when the guy started walking over there". My mom got mad at me and told to apologize because I didnt have my belt on. strange. -.-

My mother will never understand homophobia. -.- Perhaps she's homophobic herself. I'm sure she is. I showed her an article about these kids that made a facebook group about killing gays and it made me really mad. My mom read it and didn't say a word. She had that smug look on her face like a little kid that pooped their pants and lied about it. Her response was "what the hell is homophobia". I didnt tell her because she couldve figured it out herself. anyway... The article and the group pissed me off. I hate people. -.-

Good Morning VR!

First I would like to say happy birthday to Kaitlyn! siouxlove. (I think thats her vr name dont quote me though) Happy Birthday love! I hope you have a great day!

Second, tomorrow is my birthday! I dont even get a cake, but yay! I'm super excited! I get all these birthday wishes from all kinds of people. :) that makes me happy. Plus it's my 19th birthday, that means I'm only a year away from turning 20. :)

Third! a same sex marriage trial is starting today in California. I'm super excited. It's going to the supreme courts and maybe it'll be legalized throughout the states. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100111/ap_on_re_us/us_gay_marriage_federal;_ylt=Am5cFqA49OTfRELHTIpGbNx0fNdF there's the article for same sex marriage in California!

Fourth, I'm not going to Vermillion to meet up with the new cast in up with people. sad day! right? so close to home and i cant even show them my home state. :( I'm going to Minneapolis to see them. Not so bad, but I would still like to go see them just for the day. I miss my staff. :(

Fifth: today my mom, my brother and I are going to sioux falls for andrew's orthodontist appointment. it's just going to be a drive there, wait an hour for andrew, and then leave. woop. -.-

sixth, the today show is annoying me.

That's all. Enjoy your day. :)

I told my brother that and he told me to shut up and I told him no, so we started fighting and i had his feet and I told him to leave me alone and he told me "then get out of our house!" and it kind of made me mad. As of right now I cant go anywhere and I have no money and I cant move downstairs. -.- So what am I suppose to do? just sit here and listen to the stupid little jerk? he's eight! I'm kind of kicking myself in the butt for not going back out for a second semester of up with people. I mean they're staying the states, going to the Philipines, and going to Mexico. I really dont think I would want to go to Mexico again, but it would get me away from my family. But I didn't tell them I wanted to go out again. sad day! So I'm stuck here with my bratty brother that keeps bothering me and i keep hitting him,and he gets tons of bruises and will get sent away to a foster home because social services will blame my mom for it, and my mom.

Basement! here I come!!
