Friends.

So, I have been finding myself wondering this a lot..
How can you tell when someone is a true friend?
I mean people being friendly put aside.. Like honest friendship.
Recently the people I call friends pretty much have no talked to me in ages.. Only seems when they are bored they talk.
Friends here and in my life.. Everyone seems to claim to be a friend but it never seems to be that way.. It seems friendship lasts about a week if that then ends.. Then after on and off.
2 people I am aiming this at not in a mean way.. A friend on here and my life friend Michaela..
My friend here is important.. But my life friend is more the issue right now.. Recently she went away to college.. Like across County.. So haven't got to really see or talk to her.
So her first visit is the 15th.. And for some reason..
She has to bring her girlfriend.. Which literly is why me and her don't talk anymore hardly.. We went from best friends with each other all the time.. To when me and my love broke up her and I got close.. Not it's back to distant.. Honestly I feel like she cares more of her girlfriend then her true friends.. I just want to know.. Do I waste my time trying g to see her when she comes..?
