I know it's not cool but I love my family and getting together around the holidays makes me happy. Even if we have to move the days around to be together who cares if we celebrate Thanksgiving on the Sunday prior to the legal holiday so more family members can be together. I sure don't, it's the feelings not the date that matter.
I think we're that way because of how we grew up. I come from a very large family as in 100's when all together just Aunts, Uncles and Cousins and my immediate family. So when we moved away from them as kids so my Dad could get a good job and we had to take our holidays with them when we could get to visit. That's held over into adulthood with us.
So for all those who hate their families and all the emotional rollercoaster rides they bring, sorry but mine is worth the ride. I won't have them forever, loosing a few every year now so I'm holding onto it as long as I can.
A friend will stand up for you at your wedding
A good friend will take you out to celebrate your divorce
A Great Friend will help you wrap the presents before the kids find them! Thanks Rat, I know how much you do not like wrapping and yet you kicked it's butt.
Things are wild around home right now, kids are doing pretty good, my nephew has a new doctor so medicine changes again but they don't seem so wild this time. He is doing better at least, found a new doctor based on a recommendation from Birdie, thank you girl.
Yesterday Rat and my sister went off to pick up a repaired flute for my niece and I kept the kids and we worked on getting the house cleaned up for the holidays.
When my sister and Rat got here they put up a bunch of Christmas decorations as well as the tree. It looks awesome! I've admitted I have no talent at all when it comes to Christmas especially decorating trees but I'm so happy it's up and we're starting to get into the spirit.
Yes I know Thanksgiving isn't even here yet but for some reason my family never did big deals over it just a nice meal kinda like a warm up for Christmas. As a matter of fact we're actually having our turkey day next weekend so as many family members can be here as possible. Then on the actual day we'll eat out and relax and enjoy it, maybe see some other family that lives around here.
In the meantime a new window cleaning job as been pointed out to me by my sister and Rat so I've got to get to work! :)

I think it's very cool indeed. Life is truly too short.
