The Dream That Grew With Me

04:17 Aug 29 2026
Times Read: 42

Since I was a child, there has been one idea that has never left my mind: becoming a vampire.

Over time, that desire never disappeared. Quite the opposite — it only became stronger. The more I learn about stories, legends, folklore, and different interpretations of vampires, the more I realize how much this figure represents something truly special to me.

I do not see vampires merely as monsters, predators, or creatures of the night.

In my view, they represent extraordinary beings: long-lived, mysterious, powerful, intelligent, and capable of accumulating centuries of knowledge. There is something almost divine about that.

I imagine what it would be like to cross generations, watch the world change, discover different cultures, keep learning constantly, and hold memories of eras that, for other people, would exist only in books.

But what fascinates me most is not simply immortality.

It is what someone could do with all that time.

A being with centuries to learn could acquire immense knowledge about science, art, history, philosophy, and people themselves. They could help, protect, teach, and take part in changes that would normally require several human lifetimes to achieve.

That is why, to me, the vampire represents far more than blood, fangs, or darkness.

It represents eternity.

It represents knowledge.

It represents freedom.

It represents the possibility of continuing to evolve long after an ordinary life would have already come to an end.

Perhaps many people will never fully understand this way of seeing things. To some, vampires will always be nothing more than characters from movies, books, or ancient superstitions.

But to me, they have always been something much greater.

And even after all these years, there is still a part of me that looks into the night and thinks:

If it were possible to choose another form of existence, I would choose eternity.

Maybe. I get bored trying to fill an evening, eternal time filling sounds horrible.
