When you like somebody
don’t just give a glance
smile at them, talk to them
take a little chance.
When you have feelings
don’t let them be denied
be brave and let them out
don’t run away and hide.
What’s the very worst
that can happen if you do?
they may tell you that
they don’t feel the same as you.
But does it really matter?
that little dent to your pride?
because you told some-one
what you really felt inside.
If they truly are the lovely people
you thought they were
they won’t make you feel bad
and if they do, then who cares?
There is one good reason
you should always try
you could let something wonderful
escape and pass you by.
It’s far better to regret
the things that you may do
than to regret the things you don’t
I think you’ll find that’s true.
This life is very short
you should take a chance on love
because heaven knows soon enough
we will all be up above.
