Bare earth
rolls by
as I stare
out the window
the miles
fall behind us
silence stretches on
there's only music to fill the void
painted murals pass by
brief flashes of color
in an otherwise brown terrain
I glance at you waiting
for words deeper than
asking about the cats
and I wonder where
our conversations went....
My guardian angel
has mud in his hair
and he wears elf shoes
he forgets my face
every time we meet
I often see him wandering
around aimlessly
he passes me fliers for movies
I don't think he expects
to see me
my guardian angel
spikes his hair
and tapes his shoes
he makes compilation
tapes for my friends
I see him at all the shows
I see him drifting downtown
and I wonder what goes on
behind those vacant eyes...
one more hiccup
one more airplane
sitting on the dock
watching the moon rise
your head is in my lap
and happiness is in my eyes
one more hiccup
one more airplane
something strange is
swimming around in the water
i've got my cigarettes and
some champagne
i am lost in thoughts of you
again
Abandoned
on a tuesday night
sweltering from the heat
discouraged with recreation
waiting for sleep
time never moves
the way i want it to
seeping out of the clock
and on to the floor
here i sit drawing
again
hoping for more
So the night persisted on
dragging time itself
with it ad it seemed
as thoughthe etire
universe had stopped
to take a breather
as my life came
to a stand still
but you are leaving
said the mirror
can you bring dead
flowers back to life
I asked
and of course
no one replied
the markers spoke of
colors that have not
lived in a while
Dare you splash pink
into my world?
we will see...
Throw me on the bed
grab me by the subconciousness
bring it into sedation
stop the mind from wandering
put out the fire in my eyes
replace it with the movie of life
why can't we sleep at will?
Black and blue
on white
perfect circle
teeth...bite
strands of hair
floating
fingers grasping
everywhere
clawing and tearing
smooth easel
red lines
backbone
spine
rigid as the
nails run down
try not to move
PLEASE
make a sound
