The Stars Do Speak

The stars do speak in whispers,

If only to those who dare,

To look up at the wonder,

Of all that lays out there,

To Lovers as they nuzzle,

Meeting hearts form up as a puzzle

Their minds locking in a stare,

Taking it as far as two do dare,

As they feel golden rays within,

Their minds feeling no longer sinned,

To faces turned away,

Pointed outward they do stay,

Yet as they stare at what is unknown,

Together their souls are sown,

So as their lips fall apart from seal,

Together connected they feel,

To Dreamers as they smile,

Caught up in their own denial,

Seeking worlds that aren’t even there,

Of heroes and maidens fair,

Yet even as time wastes on earth,

Like cauldrons their ideas brew on the hearth,

Their dreams live without care,

Not tied to rationalisms damning stare,

So even as they are called inept,

Their concepts bring in great depth,

Real worlds leaving them bland,

They bring the unknown to where we stand,

Fanciful concept on antiquated ring,

Brings just causes to bare and on a thought it sings,

To Warriors as they morn,

Watching their pattern carry to those just born,

Knowing that though sacrifice was given,

The world can’t quell the damned voices risen,

Living must continue on,

Though pain and damage come at dawn,

Though they feel so small a piece,

Often given pause by their own grief,

The feeling the world cares of your suffering,

Does let the skies bring smiles often lingering,

So when he cries out to the dark cold night,

The stars whisper back and restore in them life,

To Thieves as they steal,

Bring curses and hatred on their ideal,

Their minds off the light,

Trying to hide and utilize the night,

Though darkness is needed,

A calm wave of silence looking up is heeded,

And sound lays absent,

Their hearts ring silently to the only listening resent,

Even then the soft glow whispers,

As if to a beauty laid before to kiss her,

That in night you can’t be alone,

That even the stars hear your souls tone,

For even the best of thieves must hide from their gentle souls,

The honesty that the night speaks of your goals,

To Travelers as their limbs are sore,

Putting effort down for descendants yet to bore,

The star becomes the vision they forsake,

Just beyond their ability to reach out and take,

Too far away their destination,

Yet to close for them to have hesitation,

For them to even see what the future foretells,

What beauties lie in their journey itself,

Yet as they look into the night,

Their eyes dwindling into twilight,

It seems right over the way,

Their new home the stars promise on another day,

So many more to speak of,

Of great tragedies and tales of love,

Like a million eyes the lights stare down,

Like distant observers looking around,

So when the primate looks out,

Maybe out there on another planet more eyes doubt,

That ever another could be having the same way,

Matching your feelings on that certain day,

Stars distance is so great to us we raise to it a toast:

That it makes daunting mountains seem close,

Troubled waters become trickling ghosts,

Like raging battles are insect hoards roast,

Like thundering skies are celestials and our earth being pleased,

Like solemn breezes could scatter galaxies,

I stare out at all the possibilities,

And in that moment give thanks for even being me…
