Radiation is starting to take its toll on Cam. She isn't eating well and the Dr and I are worried.

Her blood pressure is fairly low for her and I do my best to be there for her. I miss having her in the office. :sighs:



It's just taking its toll on her. She worries about Clay and what will happen to him when she is gone.



I have met more then a few of the Ladies that are undergoing Radiology. There is one that is doing both Rad and Chemo at the same time and its hard sometimes to see her. She keeps smiling though. Today I got to meet her husband; we talked a bit out in the lobby while I was waiting for Cam.



I met another woman who struck up a conversation with me while I was knitting and waiting for Cam the other day. Turns out she is the executive director of a local shelter here where I live now. I asked her if I could donate some knitted hats and she said she would love it, she asked if I could make them teen friendly in the colors. I said of course. It was interesting what started that conversation; Cam said something to me about the hat that I am making for her. She also asked me how the donation to Joli's center went and I told her. The turkey set me up I know it. HA. It’s all for a good cause so that is all that matters.



Cam and Clay are coming over for New years as well as LadyC and LordV. I look forward to the holiday celebration.



Oh yeah, we got snow. HA Khornesone made a snow man and put his old BDU top on it as well as the old BDU Pile cap. I will have to get the picture off the camera here soon. He was so goofy, he and Wolfbite made the snowman. The neighborhood kids, unfortunately, decided to use our yard as snowball fight base and he got knocked over.



I wonder if school will be canceled again tomorrow, we will see.



Anyways I am off to bed, have to be ready in the morning to leave early because of the snow.

So Cam called me last night to talk about her Radiation treatment that was starting on Dec 3rd. Her husband could not get off of work, active duty, to drive her to her appointment and she was kind of apprehensive. I had asked her to call me to remind me when exactly she was starting the treatments and she did.



She sounded down and I asked her what was wrong, she really didn't say anything much. Then it dawned on me and I had to ask. "Who is taking you?" she said she was going by herself because T could not get off of work. I said what time does she need me ready cause I will go with her? She told me and I was ready.



So today was day one, just x-rays and preliminary stuff as well as setting the schedule for the next 6 weeks. So for the next 6 weeks I will be in the waiting room of Radiology at 9:30am, probably knitting, and being there for Cam when she comes out of her treatments.



The nurses let me know that in about three weeks she will start feeling the effects of the treatments. They also briefed me on what things I could see in her and some possible side effects. Cam looked at me a bit tired and sad. I told her to buck up, put her wig on top of my Santa hat and gave her a thumb’s up and said. "I am in for the long haul baby and look, I am wearing your 'Bitch Wig'." Then laughed, she chuckled and made some comment that her wig looked good on me and we both chuckled and off she went to get started.



I probably wont make daily posts about this so don’t expect anything. I am just doing this for C and me; who joined us here on VR, MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHH.
