This reminds me of some I've met. who apologize profusely, and constantly. Placing themselves in situations that later they can't solve well. Leading a pattern of self-destructive tendencies and think it's okay to take others down along with them, carelessly. They make a mockery of what it actually means to admit being wrong, and being sincerely apologetic.
