It was a crisp September morning, September 4th to be exact. Along Preston Drive nothing stirred. The ice lay thing and snow-like on the black footpath and the houses shivered in the breath of the air. At number 27 Felicity Young was in a dreamland, unaware of the magnificent events outside.
Felicity Young was one of those girl who you may portray as being too naïve for her age. She was 15 and had never really been educated about life by her parents. She was always friendly with the same characters as herself so she had never been exposed to the dangers of the world before to have to be knowledgeable about those sorts of things. But lately Felicity and her parents have moved from the hustle and bustle of London to the quiet outskirts of Keswick. Keswick was nothing that Felicity was used to so she felt quite isolated most of the time. They had just moved there a week ago and Felicity already hated it. She had no friends here, for the past week she had been convincing herself she was make new friends when she started her new school and for her sake, she hoped that would be true.
Suddenly the alarm clock rang its way into her mind and awakened her from her dreamland where fantasy was much better than reality. Felicity opened her eyes; they stung with the brightness of the shimmering sunlight, which reflected off the icy world outside. Her heart jumped as she remembers what day it was, today was the day she would find out what she had been wondering the past week. The unknowingness numbed her like nothing she had ever felt before.
She got out of bed and before the mirror. She admired her reflection for a while, her shoulder-length, straight, blond hair, her dazzling blue eyes and her model-like figure. She snapped out of her daze and walked tediously into the bathroom, she freshened herself up and entered her bedroom once more. Against the far wall was her new school uniform, she unhooked it from the rack and slipped into it. Once again she admired her reflection adjusting her tie. She suited the color of the maroon and white uniform a lot as it contrasted well this her complexion.
She was now ready for her first day at Trinity High School. She gathered her belongings and unlocked the door with ease, as now she felt relaxed. She stepped outside and the icy breeze hit her in the face hard and fast. She gasped for breath, as she did not expect this thunderbolt. As she set off down Preston Drive her body adjusted to the temperature and Felicity again felt at ease as she made her way around the corner and out of sight.
She walked to Trinity High looking at her feet the whole way. Where she got to the gate Felicity took a deep breath and looked up at the warm, friendly school, with students everywhere. Felicity slowly walked through the gates, scared of what people might do to her for being the new girl.
She walked to reception where she could sign in and find out where she needs to go, she turned round and bumped into a girl with long mousy-brown curled hair, large hazel eyes and with a few freckles that was stood behind her. Knocking this girls books out of her hands, Felicity apologising bent down and picked up this girls books for her. They found out they were in first period together, so they walked to as if they were best friends, finding out about each other, becoming good friends. Felicity was right and relieved she made a friend in her first week of school. She was accepted in this big new school. It wasn’t long before she loved living at Keswick even though every night while she lay in her bed she’d think of her friends back home in London, and how much she miss them and her old home.
