Before we knew of touch or kiss

Embraced within her trembling membrane-

We spent our moments in gorgeous darkness.



Before we dared breathe her salty essence,

Or walk the sandy, frothy edges of her gown-

We coiled within each others mirrored likeness

My pinkness wrapped within your luminous palm.



Before our mouths first stuttered with language,

Before we knelt before uncertain Gods,

Before man dictated our rights from our wrongs-

We just had each other~ and it was enough.
