She struggles inside
To hide the tears.
She puts on a smile
To hide her fears.
But those voices
Inside her head
Keep nagging at her,
Bringing her down instead.
She screams silently
For them to go away.
She begs for a chance
For a peaceful day.
They tell her she's worthless,
That nobody cares.
She knows they are lying,
But to hope she does not dare.
She tries to bury them
Deep inside,
And keep on living
This beautiful lie.
She knows one day
That they will win,
And when that day comes
It will be her end.

She screams in the darkness
Scared of the night.
She knows soon she'll
Have to put up a fight.
Her eyes drift close,
Her heart slows down.
She feels so peaceful
Safe and sound.
The peace is shattered
As he enters her mind.
She freezes.....
And knows she can't hide.
She tries to run
But to no avail.
He grabs her scalp
As her face pales.
She raises her arms,
To protect herself,
As he knocks her against the wall
Bringing down the shelves.
She cries out,
She wants her brother.
He grabs a pillow,
Her screams he smothers.
Her vision starts to fade.
Her hearing dims,
The only thing she can think is
"I wish this were him".
That's when she realizes,
It's nothing but a dream.
She awakes with a gasp
And tries not to scream.
She is trying to forget him.
She is trying to be strong.
Tries to tell herself
She did nothing wrong.
It's so hard,
It'll take time.
Maybe one day
She will be fine.
