An Epiphany of Souls

Part biology, Part history, Part me



"......one night I had a dream or more like an epiphany that suddenly put all the pieces together for me. So, here it is. In the end you might think that I am actually crazy, but who knows maybe someone out there can connect with this as I have"



Epiphany of Souls



First, where did our souls come from?



“Living things have the ability to take energy from their environment and change it from one form to another. This energy is usually used to facilitate their growth and reproduction. As living things we also produce our own energy.”

All living organisms produce energy, for the sake of reference I am going to call this energy our life force (don't laugh, I have never watched a single Star Wars movie in my life). I believe our life force evolved into a soul. In the beginning, life on earth was growing so did the energy produced by life. As life became more sophisticated, the energy produced by life became more profound. In this energy we find the birth of our souls. Life was evolving and in time mankind found it's existence among the other species. We evolved into a consciously aware species, we formed social cognition, such as empathy, theory of mind, mourning, and ritual. We started developing bonds within one another, gradually forming a system of thoughts, memories, beliefs, expectations, emotions, and behaviors about ourselves and others. In this awareness of ourselves and the world around us, our life force began its own evolution to becoming a soul. Our soul began to take shape, to define itself within us. Our bodies and minds were facilitating our life force and transforming it into a soul. Soon, the soul was a part of our programming, a living part of us.



“Living things must have a program to make copies of themselves from generation to generation. This program would describe both the parts that make up the organisms and the processes that occur between the various parts. Life adapts and evolves in step with external changes in the environment. This process is directly connected to life’s program through mutation and natural selection. This condition allows life-forms to be optimized for gradual changes in the environment. In most living systems, the program of life is encoded in DNA.”

Our soul now a living part of us, was affected by certain social experiences, such as mourning and ritual. During ritual, our souls being of pure energy are drawn to one another, combined with the focus of the human mind, a great power is born. In this unity of mind, body, and soul, the essence of god lives. God is humankind. When I say god, I do not mean a sole entity in itself. I simply mean god as a power that is created by the bonding of humankind and the living world around us. God is life.



Life after Death?



Our soul is released by death. If there is nothing holding our soul to our body when it dies, then it shall return to the earth once again becoming apart of the circle of life. For us to believe in life after death is only wishful thinking, we want to believe that after this life is over that there is something more, a purpose for existence. The earth is our existence, need there be anything more?

Now, my theory on how souls become ghosts. Under violent circumstances or sudden traumatic death , the soul may not release from the body, yet the body has died, the soul will stay trapped in a type of purgatory or trapped in the place where the body died.



Reincarnation of the soul?



Once again, the power of our mind, body and soul are at work here. I believe the first reincarnate soul was born of grief. The ritual of burying our dead and mourning the loss of a loved one had a profound affect on the exiting soul. When our body died and loved ones gathered together to mourn the dead, their souls were united by grief and longing. That created a powerful pull to the exiting soul, so instead of returning to the earth, the exiting soul attached itself to the living souls. Now, two things could of happen here, the soul adding itself to the energy of the others and became one with them, but I'm inclined to believe that the soul's attachment was only temporary, like a hitchhiker. That in time an opportunity would present itself for the soul to return to the living. How does the soul return to living? Well there is not to many options here. The only logical would be the birth of a child. A newborn child's soul is weak and unformed therefore receiving of the hitchhiking soul. The soul seats itself within the child and is reborn to the living world.



Soul Mates?



When hitchhiking, the soul forms a connection with the attached soul, this connection leaves a mark, that I call a tattoo, both souls carry the tattoo of their bond permanently. In a different lifetime the souls may find each other, the tattoo being instantly recognizable, they are drawn to each other. Your soul finds a mate or several mates by making these connections throughout lifetimes. Some soul matings become very strong when this happens the souls will long for their mate throughout every lifetime and will always be drawn back to the living. Some people may never feel complete or as if something is missing until their sole mate is found in life. Reincarnation can trap a soul in this way, repeating lifetimes never finding the peace and wholeness that will allow it to return to the earth. Some souls may not ever cross paths with their previous tattoos, therefore never be mated. Not everyone has a soul mate, because not every soul has been reincarnated. I believe if a soul is at peace when the body dies then it will return to the earth......







I originally started writing this as an explanation of where I believe our souls come from, but it has grown into something more than that, something that verges on enlightenment, at least for me. I'm not looking for the answers to life, I'm looking for the answers to my soul........the answers that I have found, essentially mix supernatural explanations with biology. I found spirituality in myself and in the world around me. Not in some fictional god, created by the superstitious minds of primitive humans. Religion already had its roots firmly planted in us, before we ever had the technology to understand the world around us. Before we had science to explain, how life began on earth, or what controls the weather or why natural disasters occur. Religion was created by humans trying to explain the unimaginable, I'm not cutting down religion, because we all have to believe in something, it's in our nature. I have just simply created a reality that makes sense to me. Ive taken the theories of science and evolution and added spirituality to them. I believe our souls are a living part of us, that evolved just as we did. I believe that we are god. That our souls as a whole together in unity creates god. If we knew the birth, the growth and the evolution of our souls then we could truly know what god is...god is life.
