I grew up not understanding that food cooked on a grill could be enjoyable.
My father generally did the grill cooking, but he was beholden to my mother's wishes that everything be cooked until it was a burnt, dried out, unrecognizable item.
Steaks cooked to the consistency of saddle leather. It wasn't an offense to put sauces, or even ketchup on the steaks we were served... they downright demanded it. BBQ'd chicken cooked until it was half charcoal. Dry, and at that point, there was practically no meat remaining.
Did anyone else grow up like this?
Occasionally there would be pork chops. I grew up thinking pork chops were inedible, steak would wear out your jaw muscles, and chicken was just like eating burnt wood.
When I got older, and I had to fend for myself due to my parents being inconsistent in my life, I quickly learned it did not need to be this way. At this stage of my life, I often impress people with my grilling skills. I refuse to eat poorly, and I refuse to serve anyone food that is cooked poorly.
I'm a bit obsessive about it.
Call it being a product of my childhood.
What I learned most in my childhood was... what not to do.
Clock keeps ticking.
I wish I had a few more locations settled to potentially use.
I wish my principal actors actually reserved the whole day instead of us having to shoot around schedules yet again.
Eh. It's what it's.
Greenhouse is built. Mostly. A few details to finish and of course, as with any pre-fab kit, some adjustments to be made to make it work.
Looks like there's quite the storm coming in tonight so I guess we'll see how durable it is right off the bat.
Had a nice meeting tonight with some local non-profits.
Scheming and planning has commenced.
Going to do something to further help local communities.
We ordered a green house kit. Should be delivered this weekend. I spent a couple days building a floor for it, since it will sit on the driveway pad, we want water to be able to run under it but not be inside of it where we'd be walking.
Came out pretty good for making it out of reclaimed pallets and scrap.
Yeah, we do garden stuff on the cheap...
It helps that I'm pretty handy. ;)

We built one of those and its perfect. Humidity built up at first but those cheap chicken coop solar fans work perfectly.
You are indeed a Jack of all trades it would seem!
I am planning on running power to it so we can put in some fans for circulation, and some grow lights. Possibly a heater for the winter.
At least it happened on a Monday for once, instead of a Friday like usual...
Back into a bit of routine after take some time off from work.
Sometimes that's a good thing. Working from the downtown office on Mondays is nice: no one hoovering or walking into my office unannounced, which gives me a little more latitude to do some stuff for myself.
And the commute is better. And the scenery is better.
Unfortunately I only get to work from here one day a week.
