A small quiet place

My thoughts take me back
To a memorable place
When youth was alive
And the clock kept pace
The great Montana skies
So vast and so clear
The smell of the pines
At certain times of the year
A small community
Held somewhat in time
A quiet gentle place
Nothing really to find
A small country store
Filled with odds and ends
A smile from the owner
To all that may come in
The memories of my home
From a not so distant time
When life was uncertain
With no reason or rhyme
The house was so rustic
But not without its charm
Made up of old wood timbers
Kind of resembling a barn
And inside the house
It takes you back to the days
When cowboys were alive
And it was decorated that way
Not far from the house
A clear stream does stray
Like taunting at me
To come over and play
My small quiet place
Filled with so much laughter
Swimming with my friends
Like nothing seemed to matter
Close an old abandon school
Sits all boarded up and white
No children in the halls
To give it such delight.
The playground is silent
Ageing with the seasons
Waiting for us children
To give it some meaning
The refreshing walks
On a lonely dim lit pave
With the cool night breeze
As both guiding my way
The walk to my friends
On that paved country road
Passing by the golf course
I’m Humming as I go
A full golden moon
Surrounded by little stars
As if watching over me
Like they where in charge
A night with my girl in the hay
Filled with passion and a kiss
A time I shall never forget
It was filled with so much bliss
The times in my life
I look back at those days
When youth was living free
And the times I wanted to stay
Friends I thought to myself
That I could never lose
But at each tick of the clock
The paths in life we did choose
A different ending for each
In the path we each faced
With no ever turning back
To that small quiet place
I wonder if they think back
At the memories of it all
And does a smile fill their face?
At the stories they recall

Illusions

Mirrors are just an illusion
Of what we cannot see
Beauty on the inside
That seems to evade thee
Mirrors are just an illusion
A false image to say
Covering the true beauty
That God made his way
Our bodies seen by us
Never seem totally right
Yet to some of the others
It holds such great delight
Visions of a fantasy
On what they wish to hold
Yet can be an illusion
For they are never shown
Pictures are just illusions
And taken without care
For is it only one view
That you wish to share
Pictures of the whole
Given with so much trust
Creates dreams in the night
In which we all do lust.
Life is just an illusion
Seems to be filled with lies
For deep within each of us
We have something to hide
Is it our bodies we see?
That we are so ashamed
Or is it the feelings inside
To numerous to name
Illusions just an art
The beauty on a page
Given out with love
And cherished each day
For when the time has come
And our life has come to pass
Does the illusion of the picture
Hold the moment meant to last
Do we remember the person?
Or the time that was cost
Or is this the illusion…
And the picture becomes lost
Final Curtain

The final curtain is drawn
The show is at the end
But do we remember
How it actually began
The player so young
And so pure in his life
Begins an unknown journey
Not knowing the strife’s
Challenges must be faced
As each day unfolds
Paths that may lead
To encounters untold
Decision to question
Answers yet to find
Was it right or wrong?
For that point in time
Thoughts do ponder
An end to the show
To take a final bow
And then where to go
Does the show replay?
And doesn’t ever end
Or another new show
In which life to begin
An unknown journey
From the start to stop
To finally look back
And say the show was a flop
The final curtain is drawn
The show has come to an end
Now where do we go?
When this life does end

Death

Death, please cover me
And do set me free
For what I call life
Is no longer in need of me
Life has gone astray
From the path I wanted
Love has turned to hate
Feelings with no compassion
Time seems to linger
But the clock does not delay
Days still turn into night
Seasons come as thay may
Heart filled with loss
Emotions flee away
Ponderings of the mind
Thoughts seem so astray
Death, please cover me
And do set me free
For what I call life
Is no longer in need of me
Life always in a spin
Circling its way down
Life so uncertain
With no path to be found
Love seems to be lost
People to busy to care
Time and emotion
For once we did share
Society is in ruins
People without Faith
Lost in the turmoil
Each day they face
Death, please take me
And do set me free
For what I call life
Is not for me…..

WHO AM I? (Reposted)

Who am I?
I do not know;
A feeling I get,
When I’m alone.
Am I strong?
Or am I weak,
Do I look for money?
Is it love I seek?
Do I have friends?
We’ll yes of course,
When I do something wrong,
Don’t I feel remorse?
Who am I?
Why am I here?
To work for a future;
That isn’t too clear
A new life starts,
Or an old one at its end;
So many memories,
Where to begin.
Do I tell of the loves?
I use to know;
The feelings we shared,
When our Hearts did glow.
Do I tell of the trips?
We use to take;
Those special places,
A romantic date.
Who am I?
I want to know;
How do I act?
When I’m not told.
Do I act Rich?
With my nose in the air,
Flaunting my money,
With not even a care.
Do I act poor?
With nothing to show,
To be a slave,
And do what I’m told.
Who am I?
Why do I guess?
Is my life up side down?
And totally a mess.
Didn’t I live?
One time before,
I knew who I was,
That I’m sure.
So why do I,
Question myself
Am I feeling lonely?
Or just need help.
Who am I?
Do you even care?
The way I feel,
Emotions I share.
I do cry,
When there’s pain,
Or feel down,
When it starts to rain.
.
I even laugh,
At a silly little joke,
Or even feel pleasure,
In a Bath, when I soak.
Who am I?
I’ll go and see,
I look in a mirror,
Why it’s only me.
I never lost,
The person I may be,
The next time you look,
It’ll only be ME!
