Yesterday, as I was attempting to sleep in the early morning, a lady comes in my room, looks and walks out. Later, I found out it was the speech therapist. Apparently, someone fouled up. They put my birthdate as Dec 1920, which would make me 95 years old and she said that I was supposed to be on a diet of pureed food. I didnt know whether to laugh or cry. I really don't want to be in Rehab. After all, its a fancy name for NURSING HOME. Most of the people here are in their 80's and 90's. I am probably the youngest patient here. As I lay in bed this morning, i felt old. REALLY old. I pictured myself having to be a permanent resident of a place like this and got depressed as hell. I think I would rather put a bullet in my head instead of having to live like this, trapped in a nursing home with no quality of life. Yeah, I wept a little.

Many thanks to everyone for your well wishes and positive energy! I appreciate it very much. Out of the hospital now and in a rehab center to hopefully get my feet and legs strong again. Still have a lot of foot pain from the pseudogout. Waiting on pain meds as I type this. Still won't be on VR full-time as there is no Wi-Fi here so I'm stuck on my cell phone on LTE. I hope I don't go over on my data plan!! Once again thanks everyone! I know I should have written this sooner but I wanted to post to the Blood and Banshee and not being able to sit up makes typing difficult for me.

I have seen that a certain person has downrated and blocked three women and most likely more that I dont even know of yet on this site, one of whom is a fellow coven member and one of the nicest ladies I have met on VR. Well, I had hoped that my friend, my father and I would have done a "Slash and Burn, Take No Prisoners" road trip. That kind of a trip is where we start before sunrise and drive west, north or south until the sun sets. Unfortunately, my father had to go to a picnic and my friend stayed at the model railroad club WAY too late. Although I set my alarm for 6AM, I kept procrastinating until I finally fell out of bed at 11:30!! So I finally got up and headed north.

Even though there was still two hours of Daylight, I decided to head home. The next trains out of Albany were only on duty one hour and there was nothing to come north for a LONG time. That and it was just too hot and humid and I was getting tired. The slash and burn trip will have to be another day.

Yup, I have decided that I will take a road trip, most likely by myself. Probably north up into New York State as I have been to PA recently. My father has a picnic so he will be unavailable and my friend out there will either be sleeping or at the model railroad club.

Thought I would have a nice relaxing afternoon....FORGET IT!! The house strikes again!! The water meter blew apart and flooded my utility room. The thing is over 30 years old. You think the town would have replaced it at some point?? NOOOOOOOO!!!! Keep in mind PSE&G has replaced the gas meter twice in the same amount of time. So now I spent the afternoon sopping up water and drying crap out. :-P

I am not sure I like the colors I have used for this page. I am trying to mimic the color of sodium vapor lights but I don't know. I think it may be too much on the eyes....

You know things are bad when you catch one train and the dispatcher tells a track foreman that there is only ONE other train out on the entire railroad and that nothing would be leaving any of the yards for quite some time. So here is the only train I caught today.....An ailing CSX 8815 is on Q-434, a manifest freight from Newark, NJ to Albany, NY stopped at West Englewood, NJ 6/10/2016. The crew was waiting on a ride to the yard at Little Ferry, NJ to pick up another locomotive to add to their train so they could proceed north.

Since I am still recovering from last weeks road trip and since the weather was kind of crappy, I decided to keep it local and head down to Ridgefield Park for some CSX action.
