Telling the truth is always a good thing and you did the right thing in doing so.
No offense, but you guys really shouldn't be going out at two in the morning anyway... What in the world was so important that it couldn't wait?
I'm 21 and my own friends can't even get me out at that hour unless it's life, limb, or eyesight meaning, unless they're dying they'd better not wake me up or I'm going to be pissed.
