This is another entry in the Cycle of the Dragon, for those who know me well enough you'll know what it means, and for the special one i wrote it for: I love you Jakki
The once Dragon soared in the skies
dewinged and mortal held in angel eyes
the angel lost her halo and fell,
she saved her self and sent him to hell
the darkest abyss awaited and yawned
for horrors of blood splatter pain spawned
but in prayer and fate's duress he
prayed for salvation and fell to the sea
his body descended fathoms and leages
to the floor a cemetery of drowned angels
the fallen and dead lay lifeless and bloated
the Mortal drew no breath as his soul floated
the body, the shell rose in the water
a mermaid kissed him and gave him new life
his breath did not waver
held in her arms
she swam toward the surface
of the nights dark shore
he held him and fell in love
he awakened and spasmed and screamed above
"I was cursed, to find false hope in the skies, when in the seas domain i find, the truth and beauty of nature and love, I curse thee fallen angel to remain above."
to the Siren he turned and kissed her
feeling the kiss and taste of the fire within her
his body broke more and scales ran thick, black
demonic crimson wings sprouted from his back
his fingers grew claws silver and pure
his eyes were the stormy sea's lure
the ice in his eyes and pain weary heart looked on her
the ice did melt and became fair skies
his hate was extinguished by love in her eyes
the scales fell of shed like broken armor
his soft flesh held her warmer
he kissed her once more and all else was lost
save the beauty in his arms and love in his heart
"You saved me, from Cromlech and I see myself in the mirror of your eyes, to you i am beautiful, and you are more than that to me, you are the Siren of the sea, your song will not enrapture me, the abyss knows me not and i shed my form, i ask for your grace and love to adorn me, no more armor, no more pain, just to be kissed and held again"
the Siren laughed and kissed his lips
curling up her hips and her tail became legs
her beauty never lost only changed
she held him there in the tide
they smiled at each other and to the night sighed
sleep overtook them and gave it's reprieve
and in their minds left "Be with me"
