The only real time I am sure of myself is when I am drawing or painting. That's all I have a clue of how to do. It's the only time I know what I am doing is right and natural to me.

Everyone can critisize my work all they want. I'll still be confident in the end, after all is said and done. I don't care what they say, I don't care if I'm not number 1 or Leonardo DaVinci. It represents who I am. If they don't like to see the truth about me, then they shouldn't be looking at it. I draw for me. So I can free myself of extra baggage that I don't need to be carrying any longer. So I can see how little it means and so I can change myself, to be the way I want to be.

It doesnt matter what I draw, it's how it conveys my feelings through how I draw it. If it's dark colors with lighter colors here and there, I am being mysterious and secretive.

And it's not just drawing and painting. It's how I percieve the lyrics of a song. How I make dinner. How I decorate a room. How I fantasize about my dreams of life. How I look at the world and people and scenes. How I describe events and characters in writing. All art really is , is how someone shows how they are feeling. Everyone bases how they are feeling by what they are seeing. And everyone sees everything differently from another, in a different way even.

That's what Mr. P, my art teacher, meant when he said draw what you see. What he really meant anyways. You have to look at what you are drawing constantly to feel the same way about it.

If the sight makes you angry, you are going to use darker colors, press down a little harder on the paper, make the lines seem harsh and mean.

If you are happier, you are going to use softer colors, usually on the red, orange, yellow, and pink side of the color wheel. You are going to move fluidly and barely press down.

If you are sad, you are still going to be on the lighter, pastel, side but you'll use blue, green, purple and greys. And you are going to make the scene a little hazy or blurry, making it appear to be broken.

If it makes you passionate, you are going to use bold and bright colors. It doesnt matter what colors you use. You are going to work fast, and possibly make a lot of mistakes - but that is part of the art. MISTAKES ARE WHAT MAKE THE MASTERPEICE. You are also probably going to press down harder on the paper, but its going to be in a fast-paced fluid-like manner. Almost like a fantasy becoming real or being alive.

That is the true art. Your feelings and how you show them and how you share them. That is what makes a true artist.
