No, I am not saying thank you to a guy from the North. It is my way of saying thank you to a co-worker who decided to quit on Tuesday. That was the day before my only off day this week. I quess he felt he needed to go, but his lack of consideration for anyone else is what got me.



He knew our owner's family had already left for Pakistan. He knew the owner was catching a flight on next Tuesday. He also knew I had plans with my child for lunch on Wednesday. Mr Yankee ( his real last name) is like a little boy. He may be older than me ( I am 36); however mentally he is maybe 10. He always wanted his way. Everyone at the store bent over backwards to give it to him. I had the feeling he would try to quit while the owner was in Pakistan. I am just glad he did it before the owner left. I would have been working twelve hour days. I hope this guy does not try to come back. The owner tried to call him twice the other day . Once, he just hung up on the boss. This man will disrespect anyone and everyone. I now know why he is not married, he has no children and lives at home with his mother. No sane woman will have him. Only those who make Charles Manson look sane would be serious about him.



I did get to do the lunch thing with my son. The owner is still going on his trip. Nthaniel on the Rave volunteered to work at the store to help out. He is training with me for the next two days. Nthaniel has a grandmother from Germany. He knows how devasting it could be to cancel a trip back home.



Oh and Mr Yankee is a bigot. He made enough comments to strike me as the type who believes America is for white Anglo Saxon Protestants. I wish we could deport him back to wherever he came from, but there is an European country that does not deserve that.

(CNN) -- A black-clad man armed with a rifle opened fire on worshippers at a Colorado Springs, Colorado, megachurch Sunday afternoon, wounding several people, church and hospital officials reported.



Rob Brendle, an associate pastor at New Life Church, said the attack took place inside the church after a late-morning service and that the suspect was fatally shot.



But police spokesman Lt. Fletcher Howard said he could confirm no fatalities, and that all of the shooting occurred outside the church, in the parking lot.



"When we got here, there were victims out here in the parking lot and everyone else was in the church," he said.



He said a suspect was in custody, but police do not know the motive for the attack nor any relationship between the suspect and the victims. Howard would not confirm the number of wounded, but added, "We have some people that are in shock, which is to be expected after an event like this takes place."



Lt. Lari Sevene, a spokeswoman for the El Paso County Sheriff's Department, said the attack took place shortly after 1 p.m. and said possibly two or three people were wounded. And Amy Sufak, a spokeswoman for Penrose-St. Francis Hospital in Colorado Springs, told CNN that several victims were taken to the hospital. Video Watch report about shootings in Colorado »



The shooting at New Life Church came about 12 hours after a shooting at a missionary training center in Arvada, outside Denver, left two people dead and two wounded. The gunman in that incident is still being sought by police.



As of Sunday afternoon, there was no known connection between the two incidents. Arvada and Colorado Springs are about 70 miles apart.

The non-denominational church is on the northwestern outskirts of Colorado Springs, near the U.S. Air Force Academy. It claims a membership of more than 10,000.



The church was founded by the Rev. Ted Haggard, an evangelical Christian leader who was ousted in 2006 after allegations that he had been a client of a male prostitute from whom he had purchased drugs. Haggard admitted to undisclosed "sexual immorality" and called himself "a deceiver and a liar" in a letter to the congregation.

After this and the recent mall shooting in Nebraska, I shudder to think just what is becoming of us and the society we live in.

I should be in bed asleep. But no I am up and on the rave. Insomina has me in its ugly grips. I laid down early enough but was back up. Five thirty is going to come and I will be thinking I wish I could go back to bed.

This is not inspired by just my own experience or the experience of just any one person. I do know and am aware that some men settle for a woman who is less than what they wanted or needed to save themselves from being alone.



This entry is about the women who do this. Many young girls grow up on the fairy tales that start with once upon a time and end with they all lived happily ever after. In the middle. there is some handsome, rich prince that comes in to save the day. Of course, he is going to take care of the heroine and love her forever. Very few young boys spend their time reading Sleeping Beauty and the other fairy tales that young girls seem to read. ( yes, I am aware that the original stories may have been different than what is mass produced today. )







Many young girls grow up thinking life should work like that. They do not care if their own mother was single or had a less than stellar husband. They think that somehow they will be able to find the perfect guy. News flash to anyone reading this that is searching for the perfect guy - He is not on the planet. In fact, he does not extist.



Ok, now the above does not mean you must accept any thing that comes your way because you are lonely. That is more desperate and not too intelligent. Check this out- If the guy is a cheat when you met him, chances are he will be a cheat while he is with you. If he is a drunk, chances are he will remain one, unless he decides he has a problem. Whatever the particular problem is it will remain during the relationship. You cannot love him enough to make it go away. They have to want to change. You cannot change anyone but yourself. There is really no sense in wasting good time doing so. When a scholarship committee gets together, they do not give a scholarship to someone who made all F's in high school. Sending them to college may be a waste of time. It might not be, but the committee is not going to take the chance. Why in the world would any woman take a chance with a guy who is behaving in ways that most people can see is not going to make for a great relationship?



The above question could have many different answers for many different women. My point is this why not love yourself enough to wait for someone that is right for you? Sure, many are in a relationship. Many find the love of their life early in life. Others have to wait. Aren't good things worth waiting for? Settling for someone who is going to hurt you is not the way to go. It will not bring you love and a lifelong companion. It will bring you pain, heartbreak and emotional baggage that you will be wishing an airline had lost.
