Oranges and orange flavor substances will be our redemption. It never dawned on me to ask why oranges, but when the demons are let loose that is what we need to hit them with.

We gathered orange soda, orange juice, orange looking soap, orange tea, and oranges into a stockpile behind the bowling alley where the portal would be.

The sky turned gray and windy. A once crowded carnival street was becoming increasingly bare. A dark evil voice spoke out and the lips of the soon to be victims moved in sync.

The time was upon us. The end or the beginning would be around the corner. Some of us had premonitions about when to shut the outside door before, others had heard a voice saying we would prevail over darkness.

I’m not sure what I believed. Like a coward, I woke up too soon to find out.
