Over the past few months, I've been dealing with what is now diagnosis of Fibromyalgia. I'm convinced they give out that name to anything they cannot figure out. All the tests look good, no found diseases, no vitamin deficiencies, and there seemed to be no other malicious cause for my difficulty breathing, stiffness, aches, pains, fatigue, nausea, and difficulty sleeping. I can't sleep a night through and that my body at time seems to pulsate in pain for no known reason, but it’s nice how in the absences of scientific proof that they just it must be anxiety or depression or perhaps there is some hypochondriac behavior.

The funny thing is that yes I may juggle a lot, but I am happy. I take the vitamins, I’ve removed all carbonated caffeine drinks, I’m drugging up just hoping to sleep (sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn’t), and work out as normally I can without overexertion. I want to do anything that helps, but it doesn’t seem like the medical community understands the extent symptoms just drain you…and the logical step isn’t to throw a giant handful of pills at something that isn’t completely understood and just hope one of those big pharma answers will treat it.

I was diagnosed with it in 2005, after 8 years of trying to find out. Many people scoff at it, but Dr. Oz had a spotlight on it a couple weeks ago and proved the science of it- I can't remember exactly how it went down, but he showed the differences in brain activity in Fibromyalgia patients- over active central nervous system.

Problem is the systems are very much the same as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis- also many times you can have Fibromyalgia in conjunction with one of the two.

But there is no denying the pain and other symptoms. I have three aunts and a cousin who also have it.

Although I do not have an official diagnosis of it, my Dr. did do the "spot" check and I had all the tender points as well as the other symptoms. I just keep plugging along as well. I do not take anything other than mild pain relievers, vitamins and minerals. We just have to keep going as best we can until a good treatment/cure is found.

Having a nice day with some Twisted Tea and the pups. Cold and cloudy here- perfect weather for getting cozy with some girl movies, alcohol, and sleepy dogs that are forced to dance with me lol

Yesterday we had a beautiful morning. Woke up early and went downtown to check out the newly revealed City Creek Mail and check out a Scottish store Seven had on the to do list.

The mail is quite a feat really if you think about creating a giant mall down in a heavily urbanized environment. Plus this was a pretty big investment by the LDS Church ( yes, you read right. The LDS own the land, developed the area, and rent out the locations to various stores.) Michael Kors, Brooks Brothers, Pandora, Tumi, and Tiffanys. Very upscale stores. The only thing I bought was lemon bar from a cafe and then had breakfast outsider of Tiffany's. It was a fun, even if it wasn't in the same place Audrey Hepburn had breakfast.

Then off to Edinburgh Castle Scottish Imports where Seven got a magnet with the house crest of her family. They also had a can of vegetarian haggis but we thought it looks dodgy lol

Looks like I need to dust the cobwebs out of here. It has been too long.

Currently the pups are curled up with Seven on the giant recliner. They snuggle up while Seven kills zombies and pillages in Skyrim.

I am just sitting idly by and watching while trying to catch up on the life that I've been meaning to live instead of consistently submerged into books and work.

We all must do what we must to do, but nothing done without risk will ever yield any sizable reward. So here is to me betting on myself and taking a leap. Realizing that the sickness that has haunted me for over two months now is not going to magically be resolved without addressing the causes.

Yes, there are times when we all must clean house- the physical clutter and the emotional baggage one and alike.
