i might as well put an entry in for the sake of it. i don't write much online but when i do it is often only once in a blue moon (or should i say red?)

hello, i'm morgue the cat. Simply morgue, but that name was taken (you lucky f.... fiend).
'Morgue' because i couldn't think of a universal username for myself and caught a glimpse of "The Murders in the Rue Morgue" by Edgar Allan Poe on my shelf and decided that 'morgue' alone, not capitalized, would do.
'the cat' is from my love for black cats. so simply imagine me as a black cat behind this keyboard (no, i'm not a furry)

i am half-irish and half-welsh, though i was born, raised and currently live in ireland (which i think is a bonus here since the writers of Carmilla (Sheridan Le Fanu) and Dracula (Bram Stoker) are both irish!!) ... but in real life not so fun if you are goth.
stares galore no matter where you go and constant "EMO EMO EMO" barks from total knobheads.

i don't use much social media apart from roughly 7 to 10 minutes of instagram a day and pinterest for wallpapers and moodboard recreations. i deleted tiktok to save my mental health and i feel like myself ever since.

i like to read, listen to music (and new music at that) and occasionally learn random things. i love watching video essays on youtube and just learning as a whole that isn't forced study from school or college, if you get my idea.

i would die to own a piano and to learn it too. i don't know how to play any instrument but i know how to play a few songs from games and my favourite songs on a piano app for my phone.

i have always admired vampires from afar but never really got 'INTO' into them. i used to read books about them along with ghosts and werewolves but i always thought they topped the lot. i do recall going as vampires for halloween repeatedly but now i really love them. ghosts are cool but they're a little too sad for my liking, which, i know, is sort of the whole point of many ghosts. hence why i don't like them as much as vampires. duh :P

in terms of goals for 2026, i hope to listen to lots of new music along with lots of gothic rock and alike.

for this website, i hope to just settle in alright and to not bother anyone. that's what i tend to do on everything. i lurk and read and observe and notice patterns among people, occasionally leaving a comment or two but that's as much. this sounds ironic since the whole point of climbing the ranks here is by your activity but i'm not too worried about that. 10 messages per 24 hours is good enough for me. for the amount of talking i do, i won't even use half that amount :D
