It genuinely saddens me that this isn't a place for me - I hoped to find a place that had people with similar interests (vampires, music, gothic oddities and curiosities) and I did find that though something speaks louder on this website.
Something I as an lifelong artist and lover of creativity can't ignore anymore without going against everything I stand for.
Please if any of you care about the future of the planet, your children/family, the beautiful nature, the animals, YOUR drinking water, YOUR climate, the climate IS change rapidly. People are already having to get water shipped into their houses to wash and cook, BASIC life requirements are being poisoned by AI Data Centres.
People are AI generating porn of CHILDREN. People are "undressing" women, co-workers, celebs WITH THE AI YOU USE to make your images.
People have already killed themselves because AI helped feed into their mental delusions instead of stopping the conversation when it started getting concerning.
Now to bring this around to how this has personally effected me. How do you think those "cool" "pretty" images are made?
By feeding the artists who dared to shared their work online. Artist who have dedicated part of their life to the craft.
AI isn't ART. It's a cannibalised cycle of stealing.
Art isn't always just a pretty picture, people use art to express emotions, people draw to distract themself from the punches of life, people make art with meaning. Ignoring the potential meaning, you are absolutely demeaning someone's real life time spent learning that craft. Now if you're a thinker - maybe you can equate this to other things that take a long time to learn, and ask yourself if you'd want the outcome to be sloppy - surgery, medicine maybe.
Now if that made you say "BUT THE AI CAN GET EVEN BETTER AND HUMANS WON'T HAVE TO?" Okay then what? Everyone doesn't work? If you need me to explain why that's extremely concerning in this financial environment where the tops own more then anyone could possibly spend then this post wont change your mind anyways.

Just a quick hello so you get at least one reply to your post.
You may find comments in your posts sparse on VR. It's just how it is. For everyone really, don't let it put you off posting.
Hi, I appricate it - I've noticed that with other jounrals.
How come anyways? It almost seems like everyone just keeps to themselves? Maybe I get the wrong impression...
Maybe that or I have too much free time compard to others? I like it here more then other forums; although the amount of ai used here is off putting to me i'm trying to ignore it...
I'm not quite sure why so few replies are posted to peoples' journals. I haven't been here on VR very long, just six weeks, maybe.
I spend most of my time here now messaging friends. You're always welcome to pm me for chats too.
I'll always try and leave a comment and a hello on your posts if I'm around. And stick with it, huh? You're not alone. I'm here for you, and you have mentorship too.
Things will grow for you here. They did for me. There are a few bad apples, but then again, one person's bad apple is another person's deepest love, so it's all abstract anyway.
You'll find a place, a theme, a vibe.
I appricate you taking the time to make people feel more welcome even as a "newer" person like yourself.
I'm also suprised the VR Chat room isn't used more, I tried waiting for someone but no one ever joined.
Anyways, Thank you again :)
When you need me, anytime, pm, chat, whatever you need, don't ever let yourself feel alone here, you don't need to be.

I usually use my Hi-fi stereo system that I proudly bought for £5 at a charity shop. It's amazing maybe writing this has given me the motivation to just get up and put a CD in...

There are photos, memes, songs, all kinds of things and it can be lots of fun trawling through what people post. If you do post on it, expect some of your things to get a thumbs down. Idiots. What can I say? We all get it.
Don't be alone on this site. xXWickedTemptationsXx is a lovely lass, and really helpful if you ask. I'm fairly new myself here but ask for a bit of support if needs be.
And say hello to people. Don't fall into a rut of being alone here x
Thank you I appreciate it, I'll check it out
I'll try not to although I'm always awkward and I overthink so I avoid by not talking too much, I really appreciate it though :)
You are welcome.
There are enough kind souls here to accept you, however or whoever you are. We have werewolves, vampires, all kinds of fun things, and you can find your place among us.
Just be aware that like all websites, there's one or two people that might come across as 'less than pleasant', but don't let it put you off the site, because there's a little magic in this place, and it can be lovely to spend time in.
Always open to conversation with My friends. And I would count you among them . Please feel free to drop in and have a chat .. I am xXWickedTemptationXx an Myrnda, LadyDevra .. please visit .

Oh, that sucks. I like you.
There's a lot to unravel in your post.
You have strong feelings about leaving and the reasons why can't be argued against.
Personally, I don't see anything wrong with A.I, in the context it's used on the Vampire Rave, and the people who use it here aren't responsible for what happens to A.I. in other places around the world.
That said, on a personal level, I hope you find a reason to stay. I sense you keep running from place to place because something isn't right for you. Make a stand here, make this something you want, find a home, a place to rest. You may even find love here, some have, including me.
Think about it before you delete.
You already have friends here. Hey, we care about you.
I'm not going to say wish you well and all the crap people say when someone leaves. All I have to say is stop fucking around and stay x

The old halls of Vampire Rave were never built from stone alone.
They were raised instead from candlelight reflected against glass screens at three in the morning… from music bleeding softly through half-broken headphones… from lonely souls stitching fragments of themselves into profiles drenched in black velvet, silver lettering, moonlit confessions, and poetry written for strangers they would never truly know.
It was never merely a website.
It was a refuge for the strange.
A cathedral for the nocturnal.
And like all ancient places built upon emotion rather than permanence, the shadows within its halls shift with time.
I understand the fear. Truly.
There is something unsettling about watching the world change this quickly - watching machines learn to mimic what once felt sacred and uniquely human. For artists especially, I can imagine it feels like standing in a gallery only to discover echoes painting beside you. Hollow reflections. Ghosts wearing familiar faces.
But perhaps that is where I diverge from your view.
Because I do not see AI as the death of creativity.
I see it as another lantern carried into the dark.
Most who use these tools are not emperors seeking to replace humanity. They are dreamers. Outsiders. The same kind of people who have always gathered in places like this. People with worlds trapped inside their minds but without the hands to paint them traditionally. Writers who cannot draw. Disabled souls whose bodies betray their imagination. The exhausted. The isolated. The curious. The lonely.
And loneliness has always lived here.
Long before algorithms.
Long before generated images.
Long before the modern world began devouring attention spans and reducing art to numbers and engagement.
People came here searching for connection to something beautiful and strange.
That has not changed.
The tools simply have.
The gothic soul has always embraced evolution draped in darkness. Synth music once horrified purists. Digital photography was mocked as artificial. Photoshop was condemned. Yet eventually each became part of the very culture people swore they would destroy.
The candle became neon.
The parchment became profile code.
The ballroom became a glowing screen in the dead of night.
And still the human heart remained beneath it all.
That is the part no machine can replicate.
AI can imitate aesthetics.
It can mimic shapes.
It can assemble fragments into something hauntingly beautiful.
But it does not ache.
It does not lie awake at 2 AM staring into blue screenlight while a song loops for the twentieth time because it somehow understands your grief better than people do.
It does not remember heartbreak.
It does not fear abandonment.
It does not romanticize rain against old windows or feel comfort in black lace and cemetery silence.
We do.
The meaning still comes from the one standing behind the screen.
And perhaps that is why I cannot bring myself to fear it in the absolute sense others do. Because throughout history humanity has always shaped tools in the image of its desires - sometimes beautifully, sometimes terribly. The danger has never truly been the tool itself.
It is the hand that wields it.
Like any flame, it can warm a freezing soul… or consume a house down to ash.
But condemning every person who uses it as though they are enemies of creativity feels strangely contrary to what places like Vampire Rave once stood for. This community was built by people rejected elsewhere for being different. Strange. Morbid. Obsessive. Too emotional. Too artistic. Too unconventional.
Now another generation arrives experimenting with new forms of expression, and suddenly they too are told they do not belong.
That irony does not escape me.
Perhaps the future will become uglier before it becomes better. Perhaps humanity will misuse these tools in ways worthy of criticism. History suggests we probably will.
But I cannot hate people for trying to create.
Not here.
Not in a place built from shadows and imagination.

AI Is bullshit because recording music means the recording settings don't work without having access to your internal mic on the desktop pc, even if you want to use an external mic for recording from a speaker cabinet. The program wont let you record it's just wanting to listen in to me swearing as I do. Thank you Apple Mac for being a total FC
