I think that its messed up that more and more people are trying to make lawsuits against Kamehameha schools for being discriminatory. For those of you who don't know what's been going on in the state of HAWAII and Kamehameha schools...here's a brief summary:



There is a school in Hawaii that was created by a Princess named Princess Pauahi Bishop. (First thing is first...native hawaiians back in the late 1800's early 1900's weren't very rich or educated) Before she died she set up in her will that her money would go to set up a private school that gave preference to native hawaiian children to be educated. It was set up and created, and has been going on since the late 1800's when Kamehameha Schools Bishop Estate was created. Now...there are non native hawaiians saying that the school is discriminatory and think they have the right to receive the same education as native hawaiians do...well the thing is...hawaiians still aren't rich...we still have shitty lands..so yeah kamehameha has this big rep about being one of the few good private schools in hawaii and the nation...and hey the tuition is hella cheap...but all us hawaiians cannot afford to go to other good schools like Punahou and Iolani, etc, etc. so yeah that's the only reason why we're pissed...we just worry about the future of our people...a lot of us have moved to the mainland cause its too expensive to live in hawaii...



In Pauahi's will it says that "GIVING THE PREFERENCE TO PURE OR PART ABORIGINAL BLOOD" but that does not mean that its being discriminatory...in that school there are people of all races who are in fact part native hawaiian...the reason for the preference is that HER money is being used to better educate children of native hawaiian ancestry...now the messed up part is that non native hawaiian people are trying to take what we have left...i mean cmon' who did the island belong to first?? why did our monarchy get overthrown?? why are all the good lands not in native hawaiian people's possession when it was our land first?? hmmm...maybe cause we were tricked into thinking that we were going to receive good land from the missionaries?? hmm does it sound familiar as to what happened with native americans?? what is it with people and taking over other people's lands?? i mean HEY if you don't like it MOVE!! don't be trying to take shit away that wasn't rightfully yours to decide to begin with...



it makes me cry to realize that the future of native hawaiian children won't be like how it has been in the recent past and present...i care about my people and yeah u can call me a sovereign or whatever...all i can say is that im proud to be hawaiian PERIOD!! IMUA KAMEHAMEHA...fight that bullshit that they call DISCRIMINATORY!! KU I KA PONO!!
