Government will do to people anything they will do to animals.

I need a copy, this movie is awesome.

Last Sunday I was at the park with my husband and granddaughter. It was great fun seeing her running on the playground and playing with other kids.
She is super adventurous and gravitated toward the big kid tree house and playing with the older kids. She is an only child and spends a lot of time alone, people tend to say judgy things like "she won't know how to socialize with other people". It is an utter lie of course and seeing her socialize just makes us feel more strongly about our plan to school her at home instead of institutional learning.
At the age of 2 she approaches me every day around 10am asking for ABCD's.

I started a conversation with a young parent (probably closer to my daughter's age). He and his wife are also planning to home school but then he said something interesting and a little unnerving. He can see teaching reading and math but sees no purpose in teaching handwriting in addition to other forms of writing.

I was floored, frankly.

I didn't hate it.
Burton was dull and predictable as always but it was still a fun watch.

The key to survival is purely the ability to keep yourself nourished, not merely fed and taught.

Mock meats make no sense to me on both a practical and an ethical perspective.
They seem a great deal of effort for no real purpose

When I was 15 years old I lived on my own and it was tough. I didn't know how to shop, barely knew how to cook.
I wish I had known half what I know now. Feeding myself would have been easier.

I wish I had known that mayo only has to be stored in a fridge if it is made with raw eggs. It can also be used as an oil for pan cooking or a fat for baking.
I wish I had known that fruit and vegetable purees can be used instead of eggs, milk, and fats.
I wish I had known that spaghetti sauce can be thinned with liquid and simmered to make soup.

This is a very small list of many things that would have helped me during a very rough time and just these few things would have made a difference.
