There are many different ways that people spend or celebrate today. To some it's just another day and to others, especially those with younger children, it has a much different meaning. And then there are the Pagans such as myself that celebrate today and tonight in their own various fashions. Myself, I spent the morning setting out pictures of family and friends and even pets and fondly remembering those that have gone before me. I always do a "dumb supper" and set a place at the table for those that have passed and serve them first. Tonight I will be doing some work on trying to regain some inner peace and do some divination as it pertains to my job and what paths lie ahead as I try to slow down and near retirement.
What are some of the things that you do on Halloween?
It is becoming increasingly apparent to me that my time on this Earth walk will not last forever. I'm not sure why this makes me sad, I'm not afraid of dying. There is just so much more that I want to do though. Experience's that I have yet to have. My daughter Gaia broke down crying tonight because she realizes that her mom and I are not immortal which is what prompted me to write this. I assured her that I wasn't going anywhere for a while but it sure did make me think. Carpe Diem!
I've been on this site for a year and a half or so and I just discovered a page titled "What they're doing." Who knew?

Ha! I remember when it was introduced. There was an uproar… people could see what you were doing. 😂😂
lol It was kind of cool to see what everybody was up too. And what is "doing something mysterious"?

I make Witch's Brew, we go trick or treating, then we come home and drink the witch's brew. I usually do a tarot card pull as well.

That sounds nice. And this witches brew, alcoholic or non? I miss taking my kids out trick or treating.

Non. I want it to be kid friendly. It's a warm drink so it's great after being out in the cold trick or treating. Kinda like hot chocolate after playing in the snow. I am enjoying every second I can of it... I have one that is grown and then my youngest is 9 so who knows how long I have left of this kind of fun. :)

Oh good call on the non. Nothing better than a hot chocolate after playing in the snow and I can see how Witches brew would be the same. My youngest are 15 and 19 so you're right to enjoy trick or treating with them while you can.

My oldest is 18 but would have gone trick or treating had it not been for work. In this house I don't care how old they are, if they want to choose to hold on to childhood as long as possible, dress up and go trick or treating, I am all for it. When they decide they no longer want to, we will dress up and hand out candy. I am not one of those people that think that only little children should be allowed to have fun on holidays. :) Comically, around here people give the parents of the trick or treaters candy as well just to be kind.
