The little present he got me came today, and I've been playing around with it. I gotta say, it's pretty great. The Zen lets you have control over more than just aim assist and recoil. I turned my Mida into a full-auto scout rifle. And, to be fair, it shot pretty fast to begin with so it doesn't make much of a difference, but it's nice to just be able to hold the trigger down and have it shoot. I'm going to play with it a little more, write down the specs that work best for each of the weapons I use regularly, that way it's a quick adjustment when I swap things out. But, I'm enjoy it so far. We do have a rule though, we don't use the Zen when we're doing our 1v1 private matches. Besides, I like the feeling I get when I kick his ass legitimately.
A new job may be in my future. Pending a drug and background check, of course. I loved being a process server, but my company was shit and the stress became way too much for me to deal with. So, a steady job that will give me health insurance and is located in an actual building a mere 13 miles away is super appealing after working a job where I was driving hundreds of miles each day. So, fingers crossed that everything comes back clean, though there is no reason it shouldn't, I don't use drugs and I've never had any issues with the law.
He bought me a Cronus Zen. If you don't play games that involve a lot of PvP, you might not know what it is. It's essentially a tool that helps with aim assist and recoil, as well as other things. It's not a full blown aimbot, which just reddots on a targets head every time, but it's helpful in nudging you in the right direction. I don't really need it, I'm fairly good at PvP in Destiny and Halo, years of working and gaining the skills to be if not good, at least decent. I can hold my own in competitive matches. But, it will be nice to play around with it when it arrives. The recoil on some guns in Destiny is stupid bad, so, if I can adjust it to a point that's far easier to manage, that'll help me out. I primarily use Mida multitool in Destiny, a scout rifle I've loved since the first Destiny game. So, I know it well, I know how to use it and I'm really good at mowing people down with it. But, other guns... Not so much. I'd love to be able to use one of my good Vision's or even some of the really good pulse rifles I have in PvP matches. I'm far too reliant on my Mida, I know. It's a bit of a crutch. So, I'm going to play around with it, see what I can do, if it really improves anything for me. Like I said, I'm not awful when it comes to PvP, but I could definitely be better. I've seen some people use the Zen as a training tool, to help them get to a point where they don't need it at all. I'm hoping I can do the same.
I find I keep marking my journal entries private these days. I feel it's just easier if I keep my reality outside and away from the public eye here. Which means that unless an entry pertains to VR, it's probbably just going to be marked private. Of course, there will likely be exceptions, but honestly, I've shared too much of myself here over they years, and it's bitten me in the ass. My life is my own, I don't need to scream everything out to the world.
It's so weird to go from talking to someone every day for months on end to just... Not. There's an emptiness, a void, and you're not quite sure how to fill it.
