Darkness In the Soul

The heart beats, the soul shrieks.
The Darkness washes over you like a cloak of the darkest night.
A darkness lurks in the souls of men.
A darkness lurks in the soul of all beings.
The stars extinguish, the moon does hide behind a cloud,
you can try and hide but your desire’s overcome you; your carnal pleasures run riot.
The Soul of darkness lurks in everyone.
You cannot run, you cannot hide.
Your soul traps you in a tangled and wicked web.
The Mask you wear is as false as the words echoing from your lips.
Blood drips like chocolate from them, your words unspoken, they are like such a sweet nectar, almost as sweet as honey
Your eyes are full of fire and rage, flames flicker in your pupils, a storm builds up inside your soul.
Lightening explodes all around as you walk down a path further into the darkness.
You see a soft beating, your footsteps echo as you near, the beating of a tell tale heart, bleeding from a dagger, you rest your bloodstained hand on the hilt.
You hear the soft thud of the heart, blood stained tears flow down your face, you see a sudden darkness sweep across this tumultuous land you are part of.
In the distance a forest, you can see claws slashing through the branches of the tree’s, and sharp razor like teeth glinting in the moonlight that hovers above.
A plume of black smoke creeps from the forest, a stench of death and decay fills your nostrils, you choke and gag.
You feel the smoke tug and pull at your soul - a battle unfolds between lightness and dark, raging as if it’s a clash of the titans.
Your mouth twitches, a spectre unseen, as your hands drop away, you bow your head, the visions unfurling.
Eyes flicker open, pupils stained with blood, a piercing shriek echoes from your mouth.
Wings of crimson unfurl from your back, your legs shake as you stand slowly.
