When Death first came to me I was a boy on the edge of here and the afterlife. I was alone, afraid, and tired. She first spoke in a whisper before showing herself to me. She smiled warmly and hugged me gently. She cared like no other. She would often come at night under the cover of darkness and sing me to sleep. And now as a man, as we lay together at night she speaks of love. Of partnership. While I wish could offer her what she so desires. I can only share fleeting kisses with her. Ever bittersweet, moments of my love for her are not to last.
