The Message Center
Types of Messages

There are two primary message types: private and public.

Private messages are messages between two members. These messages cannot be seen by other members unless shared by one of the recipients.

Public messages come in many forms and may include, but are not limited to:

System Messages

House Messages

Acolyte Messages

These types of messages are sent to multiple members concurrently. They are often not directly written (and sometimes do not apply) to you.

Messages of this type are stored in their own folder, System. You cannot reply to these messages.

You should not reply to a system-type message by starting a new message and sending it to the author. Administrators and others who send these messages do not enjoy the message flood they receive every time they send out one of these messages. If you get a response at all, it will most likely be negative.
