The Vampire Tour of San Francisco
The sun has set and darkness looms as you reflect on your day of sightseeing. San Francisco has been full of interesting things to see and do and yet the streets still beckon you. Instead of seeking the safety of your rooms you find yourself wandering into the Nob Hill section of the city, old money once ruled the day here and it’s legacy is all around you. Up ahead you spot a small group gathered and you move closer to see what has caught their interest. As you near the word Vampire slides across the wind to you. What can this mean? You move quickly to hear the woman dressed in a cloak that has joined the people. Once there you see many dressed in what you might call period clothing or even costumes of a gothic nature. The pale woman calls all attention to her as she tells you of the tour you find yourself a part of now, The Vampire Tour of San Francisco, California.
The tour, which is conducted late evenings on Friday and Saturday nights in the Nob Hill area of San Francisco is the setting for what you will learn, is the hidden Vampire world of San Francisco. For living below the wealthy area, in tunnels built in decades past are Vampires, at least according to your Tour Guide Mina Harker, a self-professed 100+year-old vampire exiled to America by Dracula himself. But that is her story to tell. The tour lasts a couple of hours and combines the history of the area as known to the human inhabitants as well as the unknown facts of the Vampire world below.
Visitors are encouraged to dress in costume as they take the tour all the better to enjoy the ambiance and of course to make the local vampire population feel more comfortable.
