I am obsessed by energy. The great theme of the vampire, one might say, is the dissolution of matter into energy under extreme stress. The real vampire does not approach this by some corny process of finding some pseudo-science "equivalents" of Einstein. Rather, he looks back into tradition, past mathematics, to forces described with somewhat less understanding.

The vampires I love are not full of chaotic energy and anal aggression. Eruptive violent people that some people see as vampires. My vampires remind me of Monet, or even of Whistler. Fog, vagueness, translucency, and an almost prenatural control over everything, including death.
