I'm from Scotland originally, now living in London working in the media or did until recently. I'm taking time out to paint and spend time with close friends whom I saw infrequently due to working too hard. Now I love the quiet times, reading, chilling out with a nice bottle of wine, painting obviously, and just living in the moment. I now know tomorrow will take care of itself.
As for VR? Why? Well, I'm intrigued I suppose. I'm very open minded, and have a hunger to learn new things, meet interesting people and of course make new and genuine friends. .
I believe in angels, (sounds like a song!) and I'm interested in all things relating to the soul and the afterlife, and as I said, I have a very open mind, though conservative upbringing. I never judge people. We are who we are. If you want to know more about me, please feel free to message me.
I also believe in ghosts, and there is a presence in my front bedroom who is called Charlie . All my visiting friends and family are very aware of him and lets just say they don't go to bed until they really have to. He has been very quiet of late.
I love all kinds of music. Mozart, undoubtedly the Master for me. I am absolutely passionate about Opera. My favourites are "Marraige of Figaro", "Don Giovanni" and from Puccini "Tosca" amongst others, Also with regard to mainstream classics, you can't beat Beethoven's "Piano Trio" and Handel's "Messiah". Top of the pops for me is Dvorak's Cello Concerto, and also Haydn's. Equally, to be diverse, on the way to opera I can usually have an eclectic mix of stuff such as Kiss, Crowded House, Hue and Cry , De Amitri, Gene Loves Jezebel, Annie Lennox, Linkin Park or Sugarcult blasting at full volume from the car and lately the Cello Metal band Apocalyptica. I love singing and playing guitar. I'm in love with the bass, and also, had I the patience, and kept up my lessons of moons ago, I would have loved to have been a 'cellist.
Again, anything well directed and filmed, good stories..."Twister", "Robin Hood Prince of Thieves", "Harry Potter","Avatar", "Underworld" ( I thought Michael Sheen was a very tasty Lycan..what can I say..I'm a nice girl!) "Interview with the Vampire" , and great thrillers. Not too keen on horror slasher movies, much prefer clever films. Being a girl of the eighties, I also like good chick flicks like "Working Girl" and "Baby Boom". I adore " The Nightmare Before Christmas" , indeed any film by Tim Burton
Favourite Book ever, "The Magic Faraway Tree" by Enid Blyton. I also read anything by Matthew Reilly (great action!), Dan Brown, Kathy Reichs.. I love Dickens and an old favourite is "A Christmas Carol".
Equally I lose myself for hours in beautiful poetry, either by Wilde, Byron or John Donne, but one poem I love to death is called "Mrs Malone" by Eleonor Farjeon, and I defy anyone not to cry after reading it. And, "The Life That I Have, by Leo Marks. I'm a simple soul really. Elizabeth Kubler Ross's autobiography 'The Wheel of Life' is also very uplifting
Something about me that not everyone knows, is that when I was 9 years old I was hit by a drunk driver as I tried to cross the road, and I had what people call an 'out of body' experience which changed my (albeit short) life as it was at that time, and, I'm fortunate to know FOR A FACT that there is more to life than we think, and more to come ever after. And, we are judged . Which is why we must treat others with the respect and love they deserve, because if we don't, we will experience all the bad we may inflict and that isn't going to be very nice...so I believe that that is how we will determine our own Heaven or Hell"
Art and music of all kinds, particularly 'Sugarcult' and '30 Seconds to Mars'. I love cycling in the fresh air, sitting in coffee shops with my notebook, writing silly poems for kids about horrible monsters and scary stuff. Driving at night. Reading. I love people who have respect for others with good life values. Love old churches pre reformation where the architecture and masonry is beautiful. I think I was born in the wrong time and have an affinity for the 18th Century, maybe I had a strong life presence there before?. Art Deco. Love looking at Old Masters, particularly early Renaissance. Like also walks in the rain, (how romantic). Love the seaside too and spend many hours there watching the waves and just thinking quietly, relaxing and breathing in the salty fresh air.
Hate froth in my latte. Hot food served on a cold plate. Impatience:
Violent selfish people, and I include women in this. Rudeness. Ignorance. Bigots.
Most of the beautiful art on this page is attributed to Gothic Artist Suzanne Gildert .
