The Sires Club
The Sires Club is a gathering of Sires of
The Dark Network .
All levels of "Sire" are welcome.
Some Sires are also Regents, House Masters and Coven Masters of a Society within Vampire Rave, while some are not.
This SciFi group was created so Sires can socialize together and get to know each other.
They may use the Forums and threads freely without hindrance.
Administration positions for this group will be considered first by Sire level and then by past experience in other Dark Network forums, groups, societies, etc. Questions and group suggestions may be offered to the Group Owner by threads provided within the group forums.
The above link is actually a direct quote from The Immortals Page located here on Vampire Rave. I always loved the crushing aspect in the definition. Sounds so vampy - don't you think? But don't let the rating weight of a Sire scare you, not only can they elevate your rating (as is mentioned) but members which, earned this level can also prove to be helpful, if not down-right friendly.
"The Immortals are the highest status rank at Vampire Rave. They are members of level 100 or higher and are the most active members of Vampire Rave. If they rate you they can elevate or crush your rating."
Since the site first started, it took sometime to create a large number of members to reached the Sire level. Those members worked hard; spent a lot of time here, and rated everything they could. As we all know, earning something worth while is never an easy task. As time flew by, we saw members reaching the Sire level in only several months, a few made it in less time than that! Did a member which took years to reach the top level enjoy or made the site better than a member which seemed to reach it overnight? It was a debate that made the Forum threads and one that lead me to create the 1001 Sires to go thread back in 2006.
And it is not my intention to make any debate here on whether a member should go on a rating spree to level up or not. Everyone is on this site for their own reasons. And let's face it, having a sire level account now-a-days has many benefits. It may also be one of those reasons why a member is here in the first place! What witch, vampire or werewolf doesn't want their own Coven. ;)
Since the Societies have been introduced here on Vampire Rave, Sires have had the option to create and run their own Coven, including picking and force inducting their members. It's no mean feat, to say the least, and several Covens have come and gone. A few have stood the test of time and have been here since the beginning. Running a Society is far harder than hitting the rate button to level up.
Truth hits hard at times. Eventually we all ask for help. The harder it hits - the quicker we ask. Granted, there are some that like the pain and try to hold off asking. But luckily for them, there is also some who like patience. We have time - we await quietly.
There was some talk about getting the Sires into a group at one time. Trouble was, there was no way to do it other than having a 'Sires only Coven'
. The thought was to hangout and chat. Yes, there is, and was, chat rooms but it never really manifest into a "group." But since Cancer
has added the Sci-Fi Section
and Power Punks
sites to form, in part, The Dark Network
things have change, because both of these websites have the ability to create "groups." One such group is called, The Sires Club!
The Sires Club
is what's called a private & closed group. This means you, or anybody else, cannot join or visit without an invitation from the group owner (or one of the group owner's assistants). The link provided above may lead you nowhere unless you are already a group member. You will not see The Sires Club
anywhere on the internet either. It's one of those secret groups you may have heard about. Without an invite...forgetaboutit! And only members that have the coveted sire level will receive an invitation. As of this writing, ALL Sires have received one from me. There were no exceptions - not one.
All Sires are welcomed to join but not obligated to. If any Sire Club member changed their name, then a new invite must be received to re-join. All pending or lost invites can be found HERE
Yes, I did create the group for Sires to hangout and chat but I also created the group for Sires to learn and to teach how to run a Coven. We have a whole forum dedicated to Covens and anything and everything about them! Sires can start threads about anything in this group. We have it all. From The Running Journal
to The Hot-tub
. From Database
. If it's about The Dark Network
we got it covered.
If you like to learn a little about the group, you can explore some of the old threads that introduced it in the Main forums. They are open to all members.
The Sires Club, The Sires Club -2-, The Sires Club - 3.
p.s. Please don't ask what goes on in the Hot-tub.
"What happens in the Hot-tub...stays in the Hot-tub."
The Group ownership has now been transferred as of 03-10-2014.
Radu has agreed to be the new group owner of The Sires Club.
You can always reach him HERE if you have questions or you have reached the Sire level and wish to receive an invite to The Sires Club.
