Dune 2000 is a real-time strategy video game, released by Westwood Studios in 1998 for Microsoft Windows, and later ported to the PlayStation. The game is a remake of the seminal RTS title, Dune II, using the game engine from Command & Conquer: Red Alert. It is based in Frank Herbert's science fiction Dune universe; the game's plot line is continued in Emperor: Battle for Dune. As was the norm for Westwood, the game's cinematics use full motion video, starring actors such as John Rhys-Davies.
