It's called the Madrilenial butterfly.
There is a species of butterfly that is in Spain that normally eats nectar, but recently on AnimalPlanet, it has been said that discovery of this butterfly shows that it drinks blood from the dead carcasses of animals.
I have forged through several web sites and am unable to get more feedback but it is said that this has only been a recent discovery and not much is known at this time.
I found it interesting that a butterfly should do this and it is so recent that no articles are on the web yet.
The picture above is only a similar butterfly to the Vampire Butterfly showcased on the show but I wanted everyone to have an idea of what it looks like and how harmless it looks.
