Meet Michelle, a 29-year-old tattoo artist from Lancaster, Calif. who believes that drinking animal blood — she prefers pig over cow because of its “gaminess” — is as important as consuming water. Michelle enjoys blood several ways: in her coffee mug, in a goblet, in stir fries, and, naturally, in Bloody Mary’s.

Michelle’s 10-year addiction finds her drinking at least 7 liters of the salty stuff a week, and she prefers to imbibe during leisure activities like reading, watching TV and painting. “There’s never a bad time for me to drink blood,” she admits in the clip below. When Michelle doesn’t have her blood she grows irritable and angry and won’t leave her house.
