Killer Instinct was a popular arcade fighting game that was originally published by Rare in 1994 before it was ported to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System as well as the game boy. Comics were also made.
The story revolves around a mega-corporation hosting a tournament to test their bio-weapons such as the cyborg Fulgore, the pyrokinetic criminal Cinder and the gentically engineered raptor hybrid, Riptor.
Other notable characters were Eyedol, the montrous two-headed ogre, Spinal, an undead skeleton and Sabrewulf, a werewolf that entered the tournament to try and find a cure.
A sequel was made for the arcade, as well as a gold edition for N64.
After seventeen years, Killer Instinct returned under Double Helix Games with input from Rare.
Killer Instinct 3 is divided into seasons, each season bringing new characters and stories. The second and third season was developed by Iron Galaxy Studios.
Season three introduced Mira, a vampire who is the sister of Maya, Mira was a former Night Guard that had sacrificed herself to save her sister only to be resurrected as an undead blood drinker.
As a vampire, Mira has a malevolent personality and has unusual traits such as mercury for blood, which she can also use to attack others. One of her primary methods of attack is to use blood magic which comes at the cost of her "health" this can be replenished by feeding on her opponent.
