Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 12 minutes
Total Time: 22 minutes
Servings: 10

~Ingredients~

- 5 eggs
- ¼ cup beet puree +2 tablespoons beet puree with a bit of water
- 2 tablespoons mustard
- 1 tablespoon
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper
- 10 black olive slices

~Instructions~

1. Hard boil the eggs for 12 minutes. Transfer them to cold water and peel them.
(5 eggs)

2. Divide the eggs in halves lengthwise and separate the yolks.

3. Add the yolks to a bowl and add the beet puree, mustard, Sriracha, paprika, salt and pepper. Whisk the mixture until creamy – if you need, you can add a bit of water or more mustard in case it’s too dry.
(¼ cup beet puree, 2 tablespoons mustard, 1 tablespoon Sriracha, 1 teaspoon paprika, Salt and pepper)

4. Transfer the mixture to a piping bag and fill the eggs with it.

5. Top each egg with an olive and add a bit of beet puree (it should be runny to make it look like blood, so if it’s too thick, mix with a bit of water).
(10 black olive slices)

6. Serve and enjoy your Halloween Deviled eggs!

~Notes~

- Colors: Enhance the spookiness by experimenting with different food colorings like orange or green to tint the yolk mixture or egg white. Just a few drops can transform your deviled eggs into a creepy creation.

- Piping: For a cleaner and more professional look, use a piping bag with a star tip to fill the egg whites. It not only looks better but also makes the process much easier and quicker.

- DIY Piping Bag: A simple zip-top bag with a corner snipped off works just as well as a piping bag. It’s a quick and easy solution.

- Egg Peeling Hack: Add a teaspoon of baking soda to the boiling water. It raises the pH level and makes the eggs easier to peel.

- Spice It Up: Don’t shy away from adding a little extra Sriracha or even a dash of cayenne pepper to the yolk mix for those who like it hot.

- Make Ahead: You can boil and peel the eggs a day in advance. Keep the whites and yolk mixture separate in the fridge until you’re ready to fill them.

- Presentation: Serve on a dark platter with Halloween-themed decorations around to create an overall eerie effect at your party.

- How long can Halloween Deviled Eggs stay out at a party? To ensure food safety, try not to leave the deviled eggs out for more than two hours, especially if your party is outside or in a warm room.

~Storage Instructions~

- Cool and Airtight: Make sure your deviled eggs have cooled to room temperature before storing. Then, place them in an airtight container to keep them fresh.

- Refrigerate: Store your deviled eggs in the refrigerator. They will stay fresh for up to two days if kept properly sealed.
