Every so often there comes along a philosophy that just happens to turn the page of thought in one way or another. Be this in some philosophical sense, or perhaps in a practical one regarding the formula of life, or in some religious or political tone that moves groups of people to begin to think in varying ways than perhaps they did just a day or so before. Everyone’s heard of history’s examples of such types. Sometimes these philosophical qualities have drastic impacts on their direct and even indirect influences while in time carrying their own undue advantage over those who weren’t ever listening to begin with.

This has been the catch-all of people who have found themselves navigated by every single influential idea and process that’s ever dawned across the eyes and the minds of people for as long as we’ve been cataloging life and the footsteps of mankind. The same can certainly be said of the overall influence that’s evolved as a result of a metaphoric concept brought to being in order to explain some condition of the meta-physical existence of some who believe that there just appears to be something different about themselves, in terms of their respective energy levels and their seeming inability to retain what should otherwise be witnessed as “normal” states of energy through the course of ones days. Over a time however, what was once conceived and brought to some sense of visualized reality in order to aid peoples own self-vision of themselves, began to take on quite varied morph qualities in its travels across minds, print and in the media. When one considers where the origination's of all of this might have its roots, there are certainly an abundance of various opinions and mindsets with regard to people’s soulful self-identification and their value based, or the lack of it, constructs to add to the entire mix. The philosophy that’s now identified as “real vampirism” in and by itself had grown and changed from a term once used to describe what seemed to fit best to an accounting of an energy condition to life, to a complete and vast landscape of qualities lacking few if any boundaries and transitioning to an inclusive vat for an abundant number of groups from the horror flick lifestyle fanatic to the bondage idealist, all of whom for one reason or another seemed to find a home amongst a gathering of souls who simply identified as feeling a sense of inner energy difference from many others throughout society. None of which incidentally separates anyone from the family of man. The most exacting term that was found to identify this difference was the qualities of, and to some degree the characteristics described as the mythic “Vampire” that also had been rumored to have some life energy problem, even if this archetype existed as mere myth in reality.

As to the media, from its earliest days of block printing and the press and the carving of stone and on paper, it had been the witness to religious icons and figures that eventually influenced lifestyles and some cultures to hold to the belief that in some greater spiritual sense, there was a force in reality that fed from the substance of life in the most stark of ways. After many ages, this concept met with the creative writer who placed in print fascinating and capturing tales of beings that enamored people’s interests in these beings abilities. The romance, the dress and the manner all coupled with a sublime sense of the passionate all gave birth to what eventually became celluloid life on a wide screen for all to see and become even more fascinated with. These fictional beings as attractive as they may seem, after all the mood and the dress and the myth are set aside are after all, myth. Once the window dressing is finally dressed down, what remains is a very live, real and breathing member of the human family of mankind who feels some connection to a metaphysical state of being, and here is the beginning to the great differences in abstract perception that have become so varied and ranging over time.

How like so many others in histories witness, the members of this community must feel at times. Why not identify as being in such a gathering as the fictional vampire of lore, of legend and of myth, who also were outcast from the family of man as they were. The difference being of course that one existed in print and flash of film and in myth, while the other lived, breathed and meandered their way through the fashion of life. The lines of difference though have seemed to become rather moot as time has moved on. As more major motion pictures are released and more books moved to print, the fashion moved away from the original issue at hand and became more a lifestyle fashion for many than a lifestyle issue of real proportion for a few.

The philosophy somewhere along the way has moved and shifted from the proportionate values of identifying and working together amongst a community of like souls, all seeking greater levels of inner understanding, heightened insight and more valued methods of managing ones own inner state of energy, to becoming a philosophical and yet to much greater concern some potential theological and even a deistic fashion with the label of a religion. One begins to wonder where and when the vision began to lose its clarity and when the lines became so erased as they did. A philosophy of being as in any way of being carries with it an honorable quality, when that quality works for the well-being and the betterment of the souls gathered together for such a life. When however such a quality becomes mired in the moot nothingness of an all inclusive catch all, one begins to question the viability and the function of what had come before. Here is the premise of some questions to ponder.

Has the “metaphoric quality” of the vampire as an example of a state of being, itself taken on many various qualities it otherwise might have been better not shifting to? When and where doe’s the myth and the metaphor become too real and too adopted from where it should have been as a quality of being instead of a quantity of presenting? Now as media itself seems to ever presently continue to adopt the label in various forms and for various reasons, the age old romantic vision that so enamored some people’s colorful fascinations, has instead seemed to transition to a rather dull and obtuse vision from where it once was identified and the results can be witnessed throughout culture as time moves on. The metaphor that was also used as a loose philosophy of being to aid in the retention of ones health and learning of ones own spiritual nature, has instead moved more into the realm of the dull and colorless and the very qualities that are so repelled as an honored and stylish state of being. Now moving away from awareness is the dress and the fashion and the style and the courtesy. Now moving away from the once heralded sense of common respect is the consideration and the thoughtful and the greater sense of beneficence that defined the enlightened parts of this once respected metaphor. Instead it’s been slowly replaced by the gore, the gray of spirit and the bore as once relating to any sense of dignity and the heralded sense of enlightenment that it once provided in its example to a state of being.

The end however to any path doesn’t meet its due citation without any greater sense of recognition, for as any group travels down a path to some greater sense of enlightenment, as the pendulum swings, so does the culture and the values of the past remain always one single swing away. As the philosophy finds its fashion shifting in and finally out again from the fascinations of those who began its shift to begin with, left aside on the margins will be the souls who remembered just what the term meant to begin with, before the media and the popular started to recolor the landscape on everyone else.

As the transition of a cycle moves in and out fashion with those with no true ties to their being, the metaphor that once provided definition to the un-defined, will once again provide definition to those who seek enlightened definition of themselves aside from the gore, the gray of spirit and the bore of medias enhanced and widely adapted visions. The respect and the beneficence still exists and is heralded amongst those who have true need of understanding. The remaining tends to fall aside after a time, once the glitz and the glamour have waned to the lack of the dollar and the glory and the vain.

The real vampire is a metaphoric vision used to describe a state of being that carries no other possible definition in reality for some people’s lives, and this carries with it many subtleties that will always become popular to the unacquainted. This is the inevitable reality of the label unfortunately. The responsibility that comes with it however remains in the recognition of what the label implies and from where it came and to where it ends up. This is the reasoning left to the thoughts as one ponders just what this is all about and why its so focused upon and occasionally abused as it has been in this recent age.

This term carries real meaning for some, if even still existing as a simple metaphor used to describe a state of being that after all, isn’t all that different. When it begins to fall far outside of fashion and of film and of fascination, then it begins to remain in the realm of the practical. When however it’s moved into the realm of the fanciful and the quality of convenience, it then remains the victim of the pale of a quality stretched to ill intent.
