does anybody know of any historical documents that may lead to the truth of vampirism earlier than the studies say in the vaticant?
You mean the Vatican? And what Vatican studies are you referring to? You are flooding the forum with questions and your suppositions are getting thinner and thinner. What studies? Content, outline and sources please.
Well you could read this book. I haven't but she belongs to a group I do that does research. I have a feeling it is extensive but stays more to the Eastern European side of things. It is being used as a text book at one of the Universities but pertaining to Slovacian studies. You could try this:
ACTUAL FACTUAL: DRACULA, A Compendium of Vampires
by Theresa Bane
She has been interviewed on the Discovery Channel and the like. I do not recommend it per se...just know about it.
Try some of these links. They have many of the world's oldest texts available for free. The first link has some information on vampires. I cannot vouch for their accuracy or if you already know them.

please read some books or look for things online, there is alot of old lore about vampirism through out the ages of life.
in my web surfing I found this society. there is also an "enclyopedia" on vampires. It's more of a paper database of everything and anything that has ever involved vampires.

I think the Vatican has the greatest library of ancient texts and laws which will never be accessible to the rest of the world lol.
The act of vampirism could date back to before written language. So therefore there is no way of proving thus.
Im just curious as to how anyone has an inkling of a clue as to what "medical" info the Vatican is sitting on in their catacombs of literature and how they lived to tell about it?
Err, the links were good ones -- I will be checking a few of them out, so thank you for those contributions!
this is actually a good question.. and interesting, as well I also thanks you guys for the links....
i am sure there is text of some events, but to find these would be a lifelong search.....
the vatican does hold the largest occult library, but the Edgar Cayce institute in Virginia Beach, VA has the second largest. I have actually been there and it would take years to go through all the books.

No, I cannot. But there are public police records in New Orleans of vampiric crimes. Take a Vampire Tour here, you will hear all about it :)
if there was documented proof of vampirism i dont think it would have such a dark cloud over it and all the stigma's attached to it
I didn't say there was documented 'proof', though. I am talking about vampiric crimes that could not be explained. They cannot be confirmed or denied... just blood draining deaths due to very small wounds. And these go back to the 1800s. Surely a human could find a way to do that too- but it still makes for a query that is great to share with New Orleans tourists.
Do the details of vampiric deaths show in the the newspaper or other media during the crime investigation?
What Images is speaking about is the vampire tour as it relates to the many of the unexplained reoccurences that dominate New Olreans past and present.
Such as the Urseline Convent, which does have valid police documentation about a double homicide that happened in 1977 concerning two college students that were apparently killed and their bodies found in front of the doorsteps to the entrance to the convent itself.
The Tours do contain documentation for all stories to back up claims of both paranormal and vampiric representations.
If you do wish for documented fact in any city, just look up that cities archives for anything subject to speculated vampire or paranormal crimes for adequette research.
Singularity said it best "dates back before written language". History will teach you that all things pre-exist. Really anything to have proof would have needed to be written down. If it pre-exists before that then it is concidered "Lore".
The best known Documentation though would be the Bible though the story of Kain and Able would be where to start in my opinion.
Glad there's another New Orleanian that can back me on that, SoulShroude :)
Always here to help Images, I have been a guide for the Haunted History Tours for about 10 years now, so there is very little that I do not know regarding NOLA.
And that is how I learned about this :) I tour with Chaz... if you know him.
A very very good and dear friend of mine Images...Seems we have much in common concerning our sliver by the river.
Holy shiznit! I will have to share photos with you. But that is not for this thread :P
Back to topic... you want historical info? Come take a New Orleans Vampire, or Haunted History Tour!
Technically Images, the two tours have been combined since Katrina...So two for one HA!!! Chaz does the Vampire Theatre Tours by the way.
There are many historical documents that were found to invlove Vampyres. The question still remains why are they all covering up the fact that all religions in the world have a basis of a Vampyre in their orgainization or do something that a Vampyre would do?
DeargDueFiachra,
Would you be kind enough to provide some examples here please?
And who do you think might be covering them up, the vampires themselves, or someone else?
Right. DeargDueFiachra, who found these documents, where were they, what was this vampiric content, and how do you know?
