Say you were stuck in an illusion. The only thing you really know about this illusion you're stuck in is that some things are fake and other things are not.
How would you prove what exists and what doesn't?
This question is great Cabrion, and will require some thought on my part this early. First impression which comes to mind is that, I would hope my body would be able to tell me somehow. Via pain, touch, smell, temp etc...
Mm, i'm sorry. There is no fail-safe way to tell, save for maybe a slight vibe that something is off whenever the illusion is near - that something is off (be it in near future, near proximity, or in your thoughts) - but that could be anything.
If its an illusion that you are stuck in, how do you find out that you are stuck in an illusion? what tells you your stuck there? what if all of it is an illusion even what or who told you that you were in it? hhhmmmmmm perhaps you would never really know since your stuck there would it really matter? or would that be your ticket out?
suicide would be the last-ditch effort to find out 0_o i suppose
To be rational is to reduce illusion, every action, or reaction would need to be well plotted, and considered before it is. Illusion lacks substance, and anything with physical properties cannot by definition be an illusion. Though all the senses can be fooled in one way or another. Such an "EXPIREMENT " would require either lead a person to maddness, or to mental clarity. I see it as rather solispitic.
I think therefore I am. But reality is subject to the observer. We are are subject to our own reality, some are more tangible than others.
Life is an Illusion, the biggest and best. But how one decides what is illusory and what is real depends upon ones own configuration of their life.
But let's say for instance that we are not talking about the type of illusion that one creates in order to feel safe, like when a person creates the illusion that being in their home is the safest place to be while thieves and cut throats run rampant through the streets. Although ones home may be a place fortified with locks and bolts and possibly a weapon or two, the illusion that it is a safe place makes one feel safe.
So lets say that one is trapped in an illusion in another way. What would be that way? Well we can compare the illusion to the Wizard of Oz. Dorothy was knocked unconscious during the tornado and awoke in Oz (even though she was actually asleep still in Kansas, in her own bed.
The illusion was a result of her deep desires to discover life outside of the farm and to live in a relative sense of peace away from the negativity that surrounded her.
There was good, bad, fantasy all in the Oz stew that her mind created. All of her senses were working in this illusion/dream. But the only reality in the whole Oz scenario was the solidly based "Need" that she experienced. What she felt deep inside was the only thing that was not an illusion.
Illusion outside of Dream experienced through the ingestion of Hallucinogens : The same applies as in a dream state the only reality is ones emotional content....aside from the occasional drifting entity on the other Planes of Force & Spirit.
One way of distinguishing what is real and what is not would be through Pain.
So if you feel any Pain (emotional or physical) is must be true!
Pain is a perception, though. Just neurons firing in the brain. perceptions can be altered =D
suppose you could take a hallucinogen. I wonder if somehow this could help. or an anti psychotic. After all, it's what happens when one is trapped in an illusion and seeking treatment.
