Like 99.9% of the people here are "suicidal", but when I think about it I was like that too.. I have no idea how I moved on.. but my question is: Are people here really going to do it?
because someone how really goes for it, are on hospitals or psiquiatric guards, not on the web..

I guess i'm that 1% that wouldn't kill themselves or have ever thought about doing it seriously. I think that's pretty sad and weak personally.

As a Psychiatric Social Worker / Therapist this is an issue that impacts my work all the time ... I have never personally experienced a mood disorder event that lead me to think of suicide or homicide ... I have treated countless number of clients that have struggled with this ... the majority of them also "move on" and managed their depression or anxiety without further SI (suicidal ideation) or HI (homicidal ideation) ... my experience has been that if a person is going to do it they are going to do it ... I consider myself lucky, cuz in the 23 years that I have been in practice I have only been to one client funeral ... Given that I have no experience working with the dead, I cannot tell you if it is a gateway ... hope this helps!

i have wanted to many times in the past year but never tyed it becasue of what it would do to others

so yes many are quite serious thinking about it
but few i think have the stregnth to seriously try and of those few fewer still manage it. The human species is meant to survive not to suicide...

that statistic of yours is a big understatment I mean to be truthful i have wanted to kill myself before and tried but I'm pretty sure that alot of ppl on here frown upon it. As for your question its a getaway from your troubles atleast tahats how i see it.

I see it as a selfish act which results in untold pain for many (believe it or not.) Those with disorders which predispose one to suicide should seek help early. Treatment is valid, valuable, and getting better all the time.

Ok, While I think this thread will eventually get killed (although I maybe wrong) I just had to say that first off, I think your statement "Like 99.9% of the people here are "suicidal" is way off base. I think the statistic is way lower then you think. Not even half that. Maybe for the "younger" set it's pretty high, but you look at the over 25 or so population and you begin talking to them and you begin to see that everyone has their ups and downs in life, it how you learn to handle them that shows what "statistic" you would fall into. If all a person is gonna do is dwell on the negatives in life then yeah more then likely they will see "suicide" as their ticket out, but that is selfish thinking. A suicidal person neglects to think about the people they will leave behind, the family and friends whose lives will be forever effected by their selfish decision to take their own lives, or even those who attempt to. I have know a few that have managed to complete the task, and those who haven't, and in ever case my life was touched in a significant way. If people would brood less on the bad things happening and concentrate more on even the smallest up thing in a day, something as simple as the sun shining, then maybe there would be less suicidal people. Furthermore, if some people would actually look around them and compare what they "have" or what they do actually go through everyday to those who live in countries and cultures were people are dying everyday for senseless reasons, or because they have no food, shelter, whatever, and realize that even on a bad day they have it 100 times better, then maybe too, they could learn to find life instead of death ...

Although I must say that anyone professing to feel suicidal are in fact seeking some sort of help if only from peers. Its the poor bloke that feels it never says a word that is the one in danger of going home and inviting the television set to take a swim in the bath tub with him....

I don't know, my policy with those people who say they hate life is just to ignore them most of the time. Some people are honest, but from personal experiance, the ones who really are having trouble rarely broadcast it across the net. Otherwise it just seems to be a cry for attention. I loath it when they come to me, as complete strangers and try to dump all of their crap on me and make me feel sorry for them...

Everybody feels pain sometimes, but, that's how it goes...

the question is "suicide, real or gateway"

the question itself is a pretty dumb question (no offence meant) anyone with a brain knows that suicide is VERY real.

as for the gateway... well a gateway is an action or direction to another place.

since we know of no other place after death and have no proof of this... the gateway part of the question can be completely dropped. unless further proof of a destination after life is presented.

as for suicide being real... well that's true, it is real. it's been done many times by humans and was once a crime punishable (stupidly) by death.

however suicide is also "real" i put speech marks round it as in most cases under 25 these days are completely fake or attention seeking kiddies with nothing better to do.

i know i'm only 19 myself. But as some people have said in this thread... it sort of "passed" and the moved on.

When it is real, it's a much deeper problem. a deeper problem that i cannot understand fully.

Despair comes & goes. Just like all other emotions. It is just the situation that you are in at the time that you feel like killing yourself that makes everything seem so terrible. But it always passes and something better comes along and you change with the new situation.

Okay... I just have this random feeling here but..


If people really did or would go threw with it.. they wouldn't be posting on the thread.. unless the after life has wireless adapters and laptop computers =)

I always thought suicide was the easy way out... like a coward to scared to face the situations in my life. I think now, I really must of been out of it. Theres nothing so bad that you would have to resort to killing yourself, deal with your problems. Theres always a way to fix them and move on with your life....

Maybe we have some seriously suicidal people here, and we do have some (mostly jounger) people that are going through that stage (when thinkig of suicide, but not seriously considering of that), but majority of "suicidal" people just talking about that to attract others attention. That is so stupid, and I am sick of that.

Suicide is something that is very personal and something that impacts everyones life (not just the one trying to end it). I dont think its weak.. I think in many ways it takes a great deal of strength. I also think it takes a great deal more strength to battle it and seek the treatment that one might need.

I have battled with this sort of depression most of My life. I still have months (yes months) of time when that seems like the only option to find a moment of happiness. The type of depression that leads your life unliveable.. completely and utter loneliness.. selfhatred and shame that eats away at your heart and mind.

I guess My main point to this post is try to think what would make you do that? Dont critizies and belittle people who do that enough to themselves. Its something that consumes every bit of you. Its not something you can 'just snap out of' (I hate that saying btw.) Its feed by other disorders that tell you its the ONLY way out.
