alright have you ever in your high school years or if your in high school right now seen a guy or a girl in their locker have like a shrine for the most popular girl or guy? i was watching a cartoon because i was bored out of my mind and nothing was on and it had one of those people lol so im like i wonder if anyone really does that ? thanks
DragonAngel
i never did it. but i seem to remember more than a few people doing things like that.
lol...
nope......I only used my locker for holding the stuff I needed for detention, like my gameboy. :)
i personally have never done that. and i havent really seen it done at my school either.
I myself have never done that. I havent seen anyone else do that either.
I was in high school in the late '90's. The only "shrines" I saw were to Kurt Cobain.
I didn't participate in the "congregation". Not that his death wasn't a tragedy. He was a brilliant mind; that put into words the pains and pressures(mostly) of a generation trying to "measure up" to expectatons. He was in actuallity; THE underachiever. Wanting(in my opinion) to just "be".
I never actually did because I don't like growing too attached to things but my best friend had one... not a physical shrine but a shrine of pictures and words and stupid stuff like that. And they guy wasn't even that popular.
i never did, but the guy next to me, had everything on this one girl, it was freaky..
i told him to just ask her out, and he never did..
i had people that would give me their stuff to put in my locker.... does that count?
when i was in high school i knew a chick who had a shrine for Kurt Cobain in her locker and another chick (a goth chick) who had a shrine for Marilyn Manson in her's.
there was some guy my junior year who had a thing for Dave Navarro (post-Jane's Addiction) but I can't remember if he had a shrine for him.
i dont really know but i wud guess that there are people like that yeah
i see it some times but nt that often but i am in the middle school
I had a shrine for the Gods of Dirty Laundry in my gym locker, does that count?
Here we didn't have lockers, but a lot of girls liked the popular guys cause they were cute, they were popular,rich...I was the opposite cause they made me sick.It was the same for the guys tough. They liked the cutest girls cause were cool etc...I guess these are the most natural things in the world.
I think the shrine in the locker is a Hollywood thing but I can see it being done. When I went to H.S. and no the light bulb was not invented in my class, it was the one before me.
My locker was a small little thing and didn’t have much room to erect a shrine. But if I did it would have been at that time to the gods of sex, drugs and rock and roll.
i never worshipped anyone but people in my school worshipped my cousin dont know why she was rude to all of them and evrytime she wasnt there they would come up to me and ask where is she like i keep tabs on her a few of my friends had shrines in there lockers as well
Nope never had one........never saw anyone who did when I was in high school.
I am some what worshiped by a crowd of people from school. mostly game freaks, and japanese wanna bes. but i dont have a problem with it.
Ok not in high school........but several of my co-workers we could call them worship me and sometimes....it's........not irrritating cause I don't want to be ungrateful that they admire me, but more I guess inconvenient at times.
I have a celebrity status at work so I have keep my life private & keep to myself as best as I can.
It's almost kinda like a mini-Hollywood.
Everyone always wants to know something about me......
So, I have to keep my personal life hush-hush........
Inconvenient.......that would be the word.
lol
I can't say i have made a shrine about someone, nor have i seen one about someone else, well that would be because being down under i never got/had the (privlige=spelling correction, maybe) on having my own locker.
well, first:we don`t have lockers at shcools here, second: we don`t have that kind of `popularity contest` going on each day, we dont have `the most popular guy or girl` so, I havent done that , and have never seen anyone do it...
Tough, there was some that copied other (clothes and so)
In The Late 70's early 80's that was a very common thing going on with the in crowd.
I agree with GHawk, In the 70's it was quite popular ... but I think that it is a regional thing ... I do recall that several of my classmates had "shrines" ...
As a professional therapist, I provide treatment services to adolescents and have found that it is not as popular as it once was ... which I think is a good thing ...
A locker shrine can be a symptom of complicated beareavement ... keeps young ppl stuck ... "stuck in the locker" , I guess ...
Of those that exhibit this behavior, most use it as a transitional practice ... it can be a helpful thing ...
Yet it is sometimes difficult to tell if it a good thing or not ... school social workers can help to tell the difference ...
Hope my words were helpful to someone ...
i dont think anyone does that, ive never seen it, well except on tv.
never seen that and i never used my locker in high school i maybe used it like once or twice in the 4 years i was there.
I've never done it. I've never really seen anyone do it either. I've seen people maybe have a pic of their crush...but that's about as far as it went.
I never knew who the most popular guy or girl in high school was because my friends and I did give a shit less, basically. We didn't care to be popular. Our group was a mixture of the "vampire/goth/outsider" and we took in the geeks and loners under our wing because we knew what it felt like to have popular kids pick on us. But when I went to overage high school when I got framed and got kicked out of high school, the most popular people there where the "vampire/goth/loners". So I fit .*cat grin*
the most popular ppl in my skool where
the prity ones
if i wanted to i cud have been one
but i didnt want to
i liked my group better
even tho we were "unpopular"
imean come on being popular is being hated.
oh and my friend did the worship thing for the popular guy in school
i never did it
i thought it was sad
