Have you ever had dreams that you could have sworn were a memory from your past that you cant quite recall from where or what time.
Tell me about these, i have had them before but cant make sense of them.
I dream that I am poor in a city and in the market place. I don't know whether it is a memory or I have seen that sort of scene so many times on the tv that it seems real in my dream.
Also dream I am a man sometimes which is really odd. Not sure what that means or how I'd even know!
Dreams are nothing more then the mind entertaining its self while asleep, using images from subconscious daily viewing.
i do not sleep that much 3 or 4 hr a day i do not dream
I sometimes dream of being another person in another time and place. I also have specific memories of completly random things, such as putting on old fashioned clothes, horses/ carts, sights/ sounds from streets etc
I've never been to a professional to explore these memories further, but needless to say it's mostly due to these memories I'm a firm beliver in reincarnation.
Personally my dreams tend to be fears that are I try to subconsciously actualize in order to be prepared for them in real life. For example, I feared losing one of my siblings. I dreamed that a man came and murdered my sister while I was held immobile by my own cowardice. I learned that I need to overcome the fear in order to keep my family. Two years later, I jumped into oncoming traffic to pull my sister out of the backseat of our friend's car that had just crashed.
Dreams direct you to be the person you want to be.
I rarely have dreams that seem like the past, rather I have a lot of Deja Vu moments that I remember I dreamed before it happened. It's never big things though, stuff like random conversations, meeting a person.
sometimes if I play a video game too long I'll have a dream like I'm inside it that's almost real only with the games on my phone I never see my fingers moving things
I have several dreams that come to me over and over. Old versions of me and my twin brother. I remember his past lives better then mine though and he mine.
At least that is the way it seems to us.
A single stalker butchering a whole village or an old Pagan man direction the construction of what is now ancient structure's.
it doesn't matter what type of twins you are, you look identical spiritually and are the same soul. Your past lives are his unless you were twins before too
I for one love the dreams of past lives. Many, many are not lives spent on earth. They make me sad sometimes though since I feel so homesick.
if you think about a specific thing you want to know about your past life and some questions you have about it as you fall asleep you can end up steering your dreams in that direction and find out
Valid points but some are perhaps visions, like the Elven ladies mirror" what will be, what maybe, what may come to pass"
The tricky bit is deciphering which is witch.
They say that all the images in your dreams come from images that you have seen somewhere whether you remember them or not...tv, magazines, etc.
The dreams that I've found to be memories or visions of other places tend to usually be centered around many of the same areas or people that keep being played over from where the last dream left off.
Many are from places not of this earth as it is, but are from glimpses of a future self or other dimensions.
Over time, I've learned to become quite aware in these dreams and able to control myself throughout them. I've also used astral projection and dream-walking to explore into the greater depths of their origins.
my dreams are very vivid, in color, and very violent and bloody. Not something to be enjoyed. Dreams are usually about murder.
The dreams you have could be anything, it could be something from your past life. It could be something that can be upcoming or could be from the future. But it will always remain a mystery. It could be something that you really want in the dream or you really want it to happen.
I have dreams all the time thinking I've done this or that before. And then there's ones like you don't understand if this is going to happen or not. But most likely you won't know until after the fact. I have had deja-vu and I remember that I did this before and that it happened. It's just a weird experience and lots to think about.
Some are from the past, some are not. Some are just my mind messing with me. And, some are warnings.
Some dreams are from the past, some are from the future and some are just your brain trying to put together scarce information, in order to better comprehend the reality we see when we are awake.
Some say that when we dream, we navigate through other worlds where we exist in alternate realities and others say that we go back in our past lives trying to make sens of what happened to us.
Dreams are messages... it depends on each one of us what and how to interpret them.
sometimes dreams teach you a lesson in life or give you answers to the problems you face. Some say dreams are a deeper level of thinking, deeper than you get when you are awake
that would explain the occasional sex dream, not currently having physical sex with anyone so I guess it comes out in my dreams once in a while
i had a series of dreams when i was younger about ancient egypt, each showing me a bit more than the last one.
i do think these were showing me images of things that happened to me before (as at the time i didnt even have an interest in ancient egypt).

Last nights dream encompassed a man dressed in a blond wig, wearing an alice in wonderland dress, standing over me whilst repeatedly kicking me in the vagina. Not sure what that means.
I have had dreams that would seem like they were from an unknown memory... I've also had dreams that happened later in my life, or dreams about an aspect of someone's life without my knowledge of it and wind up being spot on in regards to giving advice.
I had one dream in which I was a vampire in Ancient Egypt. I remember the pictures of all our ancestors hanging on the wall... then a great darkness came and swallowed everyone.
On other occasions I had dreams from the 2nd WW, series of them... and some other dreams in which I was time traveling between worlds or being on a different planets... all of them were pretty vivid and memorable, and when they get that way I often think if they have some deeper significance.
i would love to know more about your memories from egypt.

There is a difference between dreams and subconscious memories.
Dreams, though being part of the mind's way of "entertaining" itself whilst asleep, also have much more significant meaning than many peopel actually realize. Because it is from the subconscious, a dream can be influenced by instinct, emotion, knowledge, or even intuition (if one has a strong enough intuition to reflect what they see without notice). A dream is sometimes the mind's way of warning an individual of what is to come, or it may be something giving the individual a hint or gesture that leads into what can open the doorway into lost memory. The dreams of one individual can also affect the mind and body of another, if enough mental energy is put into it, and therefor focused on the point that the mind is influencing through the dream. This also ties into what is called "precognitive memory", and the basis of premonitions.
However, the mind can also carry with it the memories of a past life, if the individual has already been in this world one or more times before. This is where past lives are brought up, and brought into focus- through the process of the 'dream state' while we are asleep (this can even happen when we are awake).
Subconscious memories are often brought into our focus by the dreams which are not our minds merely altering our mental state, but our very Spirit reaching into our minds, to 'meld' the memories into our thought process, which in turn is what causes some people to lose focus of the difference between past and present. (I've had this happen to myself a few times, before I realized what was happening.)
The concept of subconscious memories actually ties into Past Lives, which often tend to influence those of us who have already been in this world once before, by giving us those 'sparks' or instinctual feelings that something is either familiar or "off" in a certain way. Sometimes, this is even either mistaken or passed off as "de ja vu", and is most often dismissed just as well. However, what causes "de ja vu" is more closely related to precognitive memory, or premonitions, which (depending upon how one sees it) may be either our instincts telling us that something is coming or our very Spirits telling us such, of which the Spirit is much more in tune with the forces of the world than the actual 'physical' mind is, since the 'physical' mind is merely the focus of the brain.
Hence, why some things may seem as either "fictional" to our minds in 'reality', but in our minds' own ways, may make perfect sense, since we understand things on a different level when we enter our subconscious. When we leave that level of understanding, (unless we focus our minds to go beyond the average focus, and thus begin to understand things on the same level, but in a new manner)our minds perceive things much differently.
(If any of my words need clarification, then let me know, as I know that allot fo what I say may not make sense right away.)

I think that dreams are vehicles that in stead of taking you back in time take you into a glimpse of the future. The way that astral planes work though I suppose that you could go back in time. Point I want to make is that the so called de-ja vu thing we experience stem from our dreams.
Edgar Cayce once said,
"Dreams, visions, impressions, to the entity in the normal sleeping state are the presentations of the experiences necessary for the development, if the entity would apply them in the physical life. These may be taken as warnings, as advice, as conditions to be met, conditions to be viewed in a way and manner as lessons, as truths, as they are presented in the various ways and manners."
There are many books available on dream interpretation. Here is a link to Edgar Cayce's dream interpretations which are said to be based on hundreds of dream interpretations.

..that is because we are nomads of many life's. We are always traveling, hard to understand for some, but, is real as air.
I have had many different dreams like this...
In one dream I'm wearing clothes from like the King Arthur time period, and live in a village...
In another dream I'm wearing armor and shield on a battlefield...
In another I'm wearing clothes again from the King Arthur time period, but am in a castle...
Do I know what these dreams mean, no.. I wish I did
I have a lot of strange dreams. I am a lucid dreamer, in the sense that I can control the dream when I want to, but unless it's bad I usually don't put that ability into action. I dream a lot that I'm a different person in a different situation with people I've never met. It's almost like being a character in a TV show you've never seen before...but each dream is a different situation with different people. I don't know what they mean, but it's interesting to think about.
actually, I would prefer not to remember my past lives or how I died. Some or all of them are very disturbing. For instance, if you were murdered in a past life, would you want to remember being murdered in your next life? For me the answer is no.
the dream I have of my Past is connected to that of my Future... tis all circular.
I am so happy to see this topic because last night I had a dream that I am trying to understand.
Honestly, I have never had a dream like that. Or maybe if I did I can not remember.
But if any of you all have URLs of pages that can help with understanding dreams, please send them. They would be most appreciated.
