I just figured that I would post this. Do you think that the Vampires portayed in movies, books, myths, and legends are accurate? Some of them in my opinion turn people away from the whole aspect of Vampires. On the other hand some of them are pretty accurate. Give me your opinion.
Movies and books are different than myths and legends and cannot be answered the same. Movies and books are out there to make money. They are going to protray whatever the producers/editors believe is going to sell. Where the words myth and legend hold an untrue connotation. That's why they are not considered historical events. Any myth or legend is usually completely false. However, every lie begins with a truth. The challenge is to find that truth.
Yes, it is all about the Truth...I find little or none in most books and movies...
in order to figure out what is accuret an what isnt, youl need a baseline of what is true, an factual. In this case there are way to many truths to try to tell whech is accuret. i consider myself a vampire, but whats true for me isnt true for others that consider them selves vampires. dos that make some one els wrong for not being like me? or me wrong for not being like them?
There are many types and variations, but what sells books and movie tickets usually contains very little Truth in their content...
You also have to think, the legends and myths, though untrue, must contain a shred of truth in them to have been started in the first place. The story of a bloodthirsty murderer blown out of proportion, for example, and with time become a man not just bloothirsty, but with a literal thirst for blood, a vampire.
the movies and books take these and turn the characters themselves into something people would pay to be entertained by, and yet, though warped to the point of being nearly unrecognisable as the original, they still hold that bare thread of truth in them somewhere. The awareness of the viewers/readers brings the stories to life, and makes them lust for more. So there is truth in them, it's just hard to see without knowing all the facts.
Or, that's my opinion anyways, however much you disagree.
The truth is most or all of us have never met a immortal vampire so we do not know if the movies, books ect are wrong or right. So really I don't know.
Myths are just stories that have been past down over generations or many years...Often beginning before people began to write down historical records of things.
Often growing even more diluted with fiction as the stoy passes from one person to another.
Movies and Books on the whole carry even less substance, as they have one function to eran money for the creators whilst entertaining the masses.
Where as a book can and is often 100% made up {Although some are based on fact}
Myths often begin from some sort of factual event that is blown out of proprortion over the length of time. Or at least this is my believe on the subject.
No one can be right or wrong in this subject unless they are based on ifiction, therefore they are just imagination.
Fiction:
1.
1. An imaginative creation or a pretense that does not represent actuality but has been invented.
2. The act of inventing such a creation or pretense.
2. A lie.
3.
1. A literary work whose content is produced by the imagination and is not necessarily based on fact.
2. The category of literature comprising works of this kind, including novels and short stories.
4. Law. Something untrue that is intentionally represented as true by the narrator.
but how can we go on what they are if we will never really know
Cause certain things are meant to remain mysterious or that we'll find about them the future.
